Just 2 days to go until the start of Sheffield Showcase. This weekend-long event will showcase the variety of cultural activity that takes place in the city - featuring film screenings, music performances, art and family-friendly activities - collectively creating a full-weekend programme showcasing the city of Sheffield.

KINCA Art Competition and Kelham Nature Day

Kelham Island Museum
An afternoon of fun nature-themed activities for all ages.
Take part in hands-on activities and demonstrations from local organisations and join the Kelham Island and Neepsend Community Alliance competition to design a nature themed image for a local bin!

Classical Sheffield; West Riding Ensemble and Sheffield Chamber Choir and friends

The summer holidays may be coming to an end but there's still plenty of time to experience our Made In Sheffield activities 🙌⁠

We're open all day today and tomorrow (2nd & 3rd September) and you'll also have another opportunity to celebrate Sheffield's gaming heritage as we take part in the Sheffield Showcase on the 6th-8th September featuring our Made In Sheffield activities.⁠

Explore forty years of Sheffield gaming history that began with Gremlin Graphics, through our collection of unique objects (like Sumo Sheffield's BAFTA Award) and Sheffield made games including an exclusive version of upcoming boxing game Undisputed.⁠

Creative activities include writing your own videogame jingle using a BBC:Microbit (inspired by the Gremlin Graphics videogame ‘Wanted: Monty Mole’), crafting your own costume designs for Sackboy or Gang Beasts and high score competitions.⁠

This weekend Sheffield Showcase celebrates cultural activity in the city, through a collaborative festival programme.

GLOAM presents Twenty Truant Shapes
Sat. 7 September 2024
GLOAM Gallery
presents Nathan Walker’s Twenty Truant Shapes, where an installation of low structures and apertures frame a body in parts, as language, speech, and memory are dissected.

Harcourt Road Mobile Museum
Multiple dates
Weston Park Museum
Harcourt Road is a project co-led by Bloc Projects and artist-organisers C&G Artpartment. It looks at the histories of community organising on Harcourt Road, a street that exists both in Sheffield and Hong Kong.
