Pilning Flower Show Sat 23rd August
Having started way back in 1895, the ever-popular annual Pilning Open Flower Show is back again at St Peter’s School, Pilning (BS35 4JG) on Saturday 23rd August. With lots of new competitors and visitors to the show in 2024, organisers are confident of another great event this year on its 130th anniversary.


The show opens at 2:15pm for the public, who can enjoy the exhibits, homemade refreshments, a bumper raffle and an entertaining auction of produce and donated items. Admission for adults is £1, OAPs 50p and children free. All monies raised will go to local charity, Sight Support (West of England).


It’s not too late for entering the show’s competitions, which is free and open to all, with cash prizes, certificates, and trophies to be won. There are classes for; vegetables, flowers, fruit, preserves, baking, photography, flower arranging, crafts, and of course, classes just for children. Details of the 75 classes, rules and tips, entry forms and much more are available from the show’s website www.pilningflowershow.co.uk. Entries can just be brought along on the morning of the show, but pre-registration is recommended to beat the queues. But if you can’t enter anything, just come along in the afternoon for a fun time.
