This Sheepfest organiser is having a hard time with Facebook and/or wifi this evening... so here are the results in a single post, with apologies for the delay, and if they are getting all jumbled up.

Fantastic flock of witty sheep as always!

Captain Baard's Eye is at Sedbergh Sheepfest!

Residents and businesses have been busy crafting humorous 'celebrity' sheep and they have been popping up on Main St, Finkle St, at St Andrew's and Farfield Mill all afternoon.

Sedbergh is ready to welcome you to a day of fun throughout the town. As well as the sheep trail around town, we have...

- livestock display on Lupton Field
- a Wool Fair at the People’s Hall with over a dozen artisans from across Cumbria selling their British wool products
- activities for children at St Andrew's, Sedbergh Peoples Hall and Farfield Mill, SedberghMill and the People’s Hall
- food provided by local Young Farmers and the church ladies as well as cafes, pubs and the artisan market.

You can also call into the History of Wool exhibition at St Andrew's or visit the Art show.

Alfred 'Herd'wright is on Main Street!

Lots going on at the People's Hall...LA10 5DQ

We have a group of local farmers and artisan makers who are looking forward to showcasing their yarn and woollen textiles and talking to you about how they are produced.

Janet and Bluebell will be ready to entertain children with woolly craft activities - free of charge.

You can meet a couple of alpacas from a local herd - or you may bump into them in town!

Common Ground will be performing folk music at 11am.

And if you're in need of a bit of sustenance the Young Farmers pop up café will be ready to serve delicious refreshments.

Follow signs through town to Sedbergh Peoples Hall Hall, or catch the free shuttle bus.

Elsewhere...

On Main St you'll find celebrity 'Sheep in Shops', 'hunt the sheep' competition in the artisan market, the town band performing at 11 and Common Ground at 1.30pm

More celebrity sheep on Finkle St, and St Andrew's where you'll also find a history of wool exhibition, badge-making and Folli Contorti performing at midday.

Livestock on Lupton Field (nip into the Art Show on the way) and finally - more sheep activities, spinning and weaving demonstrations and textile exhibitions at Farfield Mill.

Free overflow parking and free entry to activities.

Find beautiful woven products and artwork, along with knitting yarn produced from sheep from the region at the British Wool Fair in Sedbergh on Saturday 23 August 2025.

If you craft with, or are otherwise just addicted to the woolly stuff, you'll enjoy this community festival celebrating sheep and wool!

You'll find humorous 'Celebrity’ sheep modelled by local residents and businesses dotted around town and in the church yard alongside shops and the

and farmers from the region will be at the People's Hall showcasing their beautiful produce.

Weavers Ali Sharman Handweaver and Laura's Loom will bring beautiful woven products made from yarn sourced from local flocks. You'll also find Wools of Cumbria Carpets, and wonderful felted artwork from Ullswater Felt Art

We’re pleased to welcome new vendors to this event. Hefted Handwoven, Watershed Weavers, Woolcraft whose stalls will include handwoven clothing, bags, gifts and other items along with Blotz who specialise in natural dyestuffs.

There'll be something for youngsters too - Janet and Bluebell are offering free craft activities in the hall and if the weather is fair, we’ll be hosting a pair of alpacas to greet you on the way in.

We’re also delighted to present entertainment from local folk musicians Common Ground who will be performing live to the stall holders and visitors between 11.0 and 12.00

We’re also very pleased to welcome back the Young Farmers who will be serving drinks and food in their pop up cafe.

Beautiful knitting yarn and wool products will be for sale at the British Wool Fair in on Saturday 23 August from 10-4pm.

If you knit, weave, crochet, felt, craft or are otherwise addicted to wool, you won’t want to miss Sedbergh Sheepfest's celebration of sheep and all things wool!

We are delighted to present farmers from the region Eden Gotland Sheep, Doulton Border Leicesters, Sheepfold and Marethdale who will showcase yarns from their own sheep, and Emily Foulds will be bringing a selection of British wool yarns from other producers.

They'll be joined by Why Not Alpacas who, weather permitting. will bring a couple of their herd to meet visitors as well as products made from fleece from their alpacas who live just up the valley.

Our stall holders are passionate about their products and are looking forward to telling you about how they're produced.

Also at the People’s Hall: free craft activities for children, live music with Common Ground (11.00-12.00) and a pop up cafe with refreshments provided by the Young Farmers.

Meryl 'Sheep', star of French Lieutenant's Woman is at Sheepfest this Saturday!

Lots happening... On Main St, Finkle St and Lupton Field:
Celebrity 'Sheep in Shops'.

Live music with the Town Band at 11am and Common Ground at 1.30pm.

Artisan market - children can hunt for sheep hidden in the stalls and win a prize - forms and prizes from the Information Centre.
Then head down to Finkel St for more 'Celebrity' sheep and call into the Art Exhibition on your way to visit the livestock on Lupton Field.

Also going on:
Wool and Craft fair, activities for children with Janet and alpacas at the People's Hall, Common Ground performing at 11am.
Flock of sheep, badge-making, history of wool exhibition and Folli Contorti singing at St Andrew's.

Free shuttle bus between sites and out to Farfield Mill where you'll find more sheepy activities.
