What a truly memorable evening last night was! ✨🎭

Our Illuminated Carnival was one of the biggest & brightest we’ve ever put on, and we really hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!!💛

Thankfully, the weather held, and the atmosphere around Sandown was simply electric.
A huge THANK YOU to every single person who came along, took part, dressed up, decorated a float, drove their tractor, danced, performed, marched or simply helped create the spectacular sight that filled our streets ✨✨

You put on an incredible show, and Sandown should be so proud of you! 👏🎭

Behind the scenes, there is another incredible group of people who deserve a massive thank you — our amazing voluntary committee

Between us, we give hundreds, if not thousands, of hours every year to organise and deliver these events for our community. There are countless meetings, emails, phone calls, plans, preparations and jobs that nobody sees, but which all come together to create the moments that everybody gets to enjoy ❤️💛

And we’re always looking for more people to join us! Whether you can spare a few hours on carnival day or would like to get more involved in organising our events, we’d absolutely love to hear from you! 🫶

Finally, we want to give a very special mention to another group of volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year — the amazing team who run our fundraising shop in the High Street

Although you may not see them on parade night, the money they help raise throughout the year is absolutely vital to what we do. Without their hard work and dedication, we simply couldn’t put on the events that we do!

To every single one of you — THANK YOU 💛

There are just three more carnivals of the summer season to go, and then we’ll take a few weeks to catch our breath before the planning for 2027 begins! 😜

For now though, we’ll just sit back, smile and remember another incredible night in Sandown.

What an incredible parade we have in store for everyone tonight, not only do we have the incredible Shademakers UK with their spectacular costumes, royalty floats from across the island, community groups & individual entries.

Not only that but we also have representatives from the Isle of Wight Young Farmers Club & entertainment from Medina Marching Band, Raw Samba, FaT Samba and for the very first time on the streets of Sandown Surbiton RBL Youth Marching Band 🥁 🎺 🎶

It all kicks off from Sandown Library at 8.30pm TONIGHT 🎭

Sandown Illuminated Carnival 2026 may well be happening tomorrow evening, but it’s not too late to be part of the fun! 🥳

Whether it’s with a group of friends, part of a club or just as an individual entry, there is still time!! 🕰️

Whip up some simple costumes, a float, use your entry you showed off at another island carnival or simply bring along your prized vehicle to show off to everyone - we’d love to see you on the streets of Sandown 🎭
