🚨 URGENT CHRISTMAS PARADE UPDATE 🚨
Due to a forecast of heavy rain and possible high winds, the Saltburn Christmas Lights Parade Committee (all volunteers) have had to make the difficult decision to scale down today’s event.
Here’s what is still happening:
🎄 Library events will go ahead from 2:30pm
🎄 5pm: Parade & Light Switch-On happening whatever the weather
🎅 Father Christmas will be in his Grotto at the Community Centre from 5:20pm
➡️ Please enter via Windsor Road to see Santa
❌ There will be NO stalls or rides on Glenside due to weather safety concerns.
Despite the changes, we’d love for you to join us and help welcome the start of Christmas in Saltburn.

The Saltburn Christmas Parade 2025 has been ‘scaled down’ due to a forecast of heavy rain and possible high winds, organisers have announced.

As a result of the weather, there will be NO stalls or rides on Glenside due to safety concerns.

A post on the events page states: “URGENT CHRISTMAS PARADE UPDATE. Due to a forecast of heavy rain and possible high winds, the Saltburn Christmas Lights Parade Committee (all volunteers) have had to make the difficult decision to scale down today’s event.

The lighting-up parade team are making every effort to hold today's event. The weather will play a big part in deciding the nature of the event. The ideal scenario is to start the parade just before 5pm. It will proceed down Albion Terrace and the tree will be lit up at 5pm. The parade will then proceed around to the bandstand where children will be able to see Santa. Each child will be given a chocolate bar. It is free to see Santa, however, there will be collecting buckets for you to make donations towards the cost of Saltburn lights - they are all organised by volunteers. If the weather is too wet, a decision will be made to have a Santa's Grotto in the library, meaning the stalls/rides at Glenside will be stood down. If it turns out to be too wet, the event will be cancelled, which is the last thing committee want!! The planning and funding leading up to the event has meant a lot of voluntary hours going into it. If we have to cancel, please accept our apologies and let's all hope for better weather next year!!
