FirsFest announcement

After an enforced two year absence and having already started to make plans for the 2022 “QE2 Jubilee year” Firsdown Music Festival “FirsFest” in July this year, it is now with considerable regret that the organising team must announce that unfortunately for logistical but understandable reasons entirely beyond our control, we are unable to proceed with this year’s proposed event at the Firsdown site.

The requirements of a busy music festival such as ours are very specific, and unfortunately despite best efforts, we have been unable to identify a suitable alternative site in the Firsdown and Winterslow area that can accommodate the event or would be available.

Having established FirsFest on the local music festival map some 15 years, we appreciate that this news will come as a great disappointment to many, and we are looking at possible alternative community activities for the future, so do watch this space!

In the meantime, we offer our very grateful thanks for all those that have given their time, effort and invaluable contributions to FirsFest over the years. Significant sums have been raised for charities, such as the Salisbury Hospital Stars Appeal.

Dear Festival Friends

We are very sad to announce that FirsFest 2021 is cancelled. It was actually an easy decision because we’ve decided to be safe and not sorry. It would definitely be irresponsible to go ahead when there is still a real risk of importing and spreading the dreaded Covid-19 into the local community.

Your wellbeing and that of our amazing crew, invaluable volunteers, talented artists and the local community are paramount and we thank you for all your unstinting support.

We will be putting all our efforts into ensuring that next year’s festival, running from the 29th to 30th July, is everything we hope for and more. In fact, please do get involved – we’re looking for people now to join the team.

We wish you all the very best through these difficult times and look forward to seeing you next year.

Very best,

The Team at FirsFest

Hope to see you all next year.....

Hope to see you all next year.....

Dear Festival Friends

We are very sad to announce that FirsFest 2020 is cancelled. This has been a difficult decision but in the light of the pandemic it would be irresponsible to go ahead with what would have been our 15th festival.

Your wellbeing and that of our amazing crew, invaluable volunteers, artists and the local community are paramount and we thank you all for your unstinting support.

Music, friendship and the great outdoors are going to be more important to us all than ever before as we rebuild our health and communities over the coming months. We will be putting all of our efforts into ensuring that next year’s festival running from the 30th to 31st July is everything that we had hoped for and more.

We wish you all the very best through these difficult times and look forward to seeing you next year.

Very best,

The Team at FirsFest

Well that's it for another year. Thank you. Thanks so much to all the bands and acts, to the technical crews, to the army of volunteers, to the food and drink people, to the Royal Artillery, to the firework crew, to our amazing sponsors, to the landowner, to the village of Firsdown and, of course, to our fantastic audience for your enthusiasm and generosity. We'd love to receive your comments here or by PM if you prefer. What went well? What were your favourite bits? Even better if? Come on, we can take it x

Here's some photos of things we found while clearing up. We'd love to reunite them with their owners.

Evie Halpin is a Salisbury based, edgy, 15 year old singer songwriter who draws vocal inspiration from artists such as Billy Holiday, Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse.

Developing a range that defies categorisation, her vocal versatility offers elements of powerhouse pop combined with mesmerising, soulful emotion.

Since performing her own song on guitar at a local music festival at the age of 8, Evie has recorded several songs and performed at various venues including festivals and black tie events.

We're very lucky to welcome Evie to The Social stage tonight at 6pm.
