One week until Lafrowda painting auction concludes!
I was unable to be at Lafrowda Day this year because it came in the middle of the post-radiotherapy pain flare that I had to deal with. Radiotherapy has been part of my treatment for secondary bone cancer. In light of this disclosure it will have occurred to you that the image of Confronting the beast ( https://www.hendersonsmith.co.uk/product/confronting-beast-lafrowda-2017/ ) has developed an additional and personal significance for me.
In the late summer of 2017 when the painting was created, following a visit that my partner and I had made to the festival, I was getting over the last of six cycles of chemotherapy. Then, as plans for my current exhibition, Reprieve, now running at Bodmin Shire Hall, began to take shape; I realised that the Lafrowda canvas could represent an important part of the story behind the show. That is why I decided that the end of the exhibition, which is next Saturday, would be the best date for the conclusion of this latest online auction. You can see the painting illustrated on page 3 of a downloadable PDF of the exhibition booklet alongside a full essay by Gabrielle Hawkes here (https://www.hendersonsmith.co.uk/hswp/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Booklet-for-Reprieve.pdf )
If you have followed the auction so far you will have seen that the highest bid in this online auction at the moment is just £150. You will also have seen that there is a free print of the painting for everyone who advances the bidding further. To make such a bid yourself simply private message me with your bid. If you are browsing my website you can do the same by following a link to the contact page. Either way, In order for me to send you the print you will need to include your full postal address in your message.
