Looking to develop your Creative Writing? Young and Talented Cornwall could help….

Are you a young writer in Cornwall with a story to tell? ✍️

The Young & Talented Creative Writing Awards offer mentoring from professional writers plus grants of up to £1,000 to help you develop your craft.

Whether you’re into poetry, storytelling, journalism or screenwriting, this funding can support your journey, covering things like workshops, equipment and training.

Open to young people aged 16–23 across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, with a focus on supporting those who might not otherwise have the opportunity.

Wow! What an evening! Thank you to everyone who performed, announced or who helped in any way with this evening’s concert. Thank you also to everyone who came and made such an appreciative audience. We hope to see you all at our Festival in November.

The sun is out, the stage is up, the programmes are being printed and we look forward to our Celebration Concert this evening at St John's with Trinity Trewoon Methodist Church, St Austell at 7pm. We'd love to see you!

Our Showcase Concert will be on Thursday 26th March 2026 at 7pm at St John's Methodist Church.

We have an exciting and varied evening which will include ensemble musical contributions from Luxulyan School Choir, Penrice Academy Choir, CMST's St Austell Chamber Orchestra and Stuns'ls.

There will also be recitations of solo poems and duologues from children and young people from Year 2 to secondary school. We also are very lucky to have a wide variety of solo instrumental performances including piano, violin, tuba and drum kit.

Come and help us celebrate the joy of performing and listening to live entertainment! We'd love to see you.

We are really excited about 2026 being the National Year of Reading! We love using books as inspiration for musical activities and vocal play. In March we are holding a free CPD event for Early Years practitioners to celebrate linking reading to music in your settings. Keep posted for details...
