Come and see Jillian Eldridge and her recent paintings as part of New Road Artists Spring Open Studios

Friday 15 May 2026 5-8pm
Saturday 16 May 2026 10am-4pm

Jillian says “I take the fabrics I have collected over the years, consisting of silks, damasks, lace, gold, and cottons and hang them together on my studio wall, or lay them on the floor, arranging and rearranging until they take on a persona that I can use for a painting. I paint in oils on canvas and I hope to create a sense of being through the shape, colour and decoration that ensues, firstly as a shadowy form and then following drawing with paint arranging and rearranging, blocking in colour to create the beautiful light and shadows of creased and swirling fabrics, working on their textures and adding intricate pattern.“

Glass fusing workshop with Jane Padgham

Create and connect with this fun, sociable Fused Glass Workshop. This session will give you a great introduction to working with glass. Included in the price is enough glass to make either….

- Two 10cm coasters or light catchers
- A 10 x 5cm hanger or
- Two small 4 x 4cm hangers/keyring

The workshop is designed to be fun and allows you to be creative whilst learning the basic skills of glass fusing. The session assumes no previous experience with glass and is suitable for those aged 16+.

Please note that your creations will not be available to take home on the day as this will need to be fired at Jane’s studio. They will be ready for you to collect 14 days after the workshop.

Cost:
The fee for this workshop is £55 per person which includes all materials and refreshments.
Full payment for any workshops booked will be required at the time of booking and payment needs to be made within 7 days to secure your place.
This fee is non-refundable but dates can be amended if necessary 24 hours before the time of the workshop.
