Even the youngest in our community can make a huge difference this December!

This December, we are asking schools, community groups, and families to pop on their elf hats and take part in a fun, festive sponsored run to raise money for Halton Haven Hospice.

Over the next few weeks you will see our CEO, members of our Executive team, Trustees, and staff members doing bucket collections across Asda and Tesco near you, as they aim to collectively achieve 100 hours of bucket collections for the Hospice before Christmas!

We would love volunteers to help us to reach this target. Whether you can spare 2 hours, a morning or an afternoon, every bit of time counts towards our 100-hour target. You don’t need any previous fundraising experience, just a big smile, willingness to get involved, have a chat with the public and help raise awareness of the Hospice. If you are interested in getting involved email [email protected] to find out more. Together, we can make a difference.

This winter, get involved with some amazing community events that the Mayor of Halton is putting on to raise vital funds for her two chosen charities this year.

Up next in our Vietnam to Cambodia team is Mark! 🚲

"I’m Mark, a 64 year old semi-retired grandad! I’ve been involved in sport, leisure and physical activity in both a professional and personal capacity my whole life. Cycling has never been my preferred way to keep fit so this challenge seemed like a great opportunity to test myself while raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

Halton Haven Hospice provides incredibly important care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families, at a time when they need it most. I’m taking part in the charity cycle ride to help raise funds and awareness for the Hospice and to make a small contribution towards the fantastic work it does. I’m really grateful to everyone who supports me and, more importantly, supports the Hospice."

We recently received cards from the pupils at St Edward's Catholic Primary School to share with patients and families at the Hospice. This is only a selection of the beautiful designs on the inside of the cards. Thank you so much for this wonderful act of kindness. ⭐

It is nearly time for our team to start their over 350km cycle challenge from Vietnam to Cambodia! Up next on 'Meet the Team' we have Neil.

"My name is Neil. I've supported Halton Haven Hospice for many, many years. Although I've never personally needed to use their services, I've known many friends who have, and I've seen just how much this incredible local charity means to people and their families during some of the most difficult times in their lives. I firmly believe that charity begins at home, and what better cause to support than one that does so much for our own community?

Last year, I took on the Arctic Challenge, which was an amazing achievement. This year, I fancied something a little warmer! 🌞 At the end of October, I'll be heading to Vietnam to take on an incredible cycling challenge through to Cambodia, covering around 400km along the way.

I'm aiming to raise £4,000 to help support Halton Haven Hospice and the vital work they do for local people and their families. Every donation, no matter how big or small, is hugely appreciated and will help make a difference.
