WOW, what a day it has been at the AHGTC National Rugeley Town Crier Championship 2026 ! What a spectacle of colour, character, fine voices and magnificent cries from some of the very best Town Criers in the land! 👏🔔

As we share photographs from the Championship Dinner at Lea Hall, we'd like to congratulate all of our award winners:

🌹 Best Dressed Consort – Heather Graham of Dawlish

👑 Best Dressed Couple – Rennie Chivers and Denise Chivers of Colchester

🎩 Best Dressed Town Crier – Jeremy Holland of Cinderford

🏅 Ambassador of the Guild – Adrian Holmes of Lichfield
🛡️ Jody Huizar won the Bob Walker Shield.

🥉 3rd Place – John Griffiths Griff of Sleaford Sleaford Town Crier

🥈 2nd Place – Kevin Ward of Bromsgrove
🥇 Winner of the Ancient and Honourable Guild of Town Criers National Championship – Rugeley 2026 – Jeremy Holland of Cinderford Jer Holland , who successfully retained the title for a second consecutive year! What an incredible achievement! 👏🔔

🔔 A huge well done also to all of our Junior Town Criers who took part in the Junior Town Crier competition. Every one of you showed tremendous confidence and enthusiasm, helping to keep this wonderful tradition alive. Special congratulations to Zachary, who proudly claimed the prestigious title of Junior Town Crier of the Town! 😍👏

From the first cry to the final bell, Rugeley was treated to a wonderful celebration of one of Britain's oldest traditions. The atmosphere was fantastic and the standard of competition was truly exceptional.

To all our competitors, volunteers, sponsors and supporters... thank you for making this a weekend to remember.😍

Right now, 22 town criers from across the country are making their final preparations for tomorrow's championship. Bells are being polished, robes are being pressed, and voices are being warmed up, ready to deliver a spectacular display for the people of Rugeley.
