It gives me Great Pleasure
Today to introduce not Just the winner of the Mini Town Crier Competition that was held on the 06th Day of June in the year 2026.
But also the newest Team Member of Rugeleys Events.
Mini Crier Zachary today took charge of his new Livery.
An educational story book that was printed in the time before Television that tells the story of Crier George Upton of Rugeley and his adventures with Lions.
He also took charge of a pretty Large Toblerone on account that This Town Crier needs to keep him sweet, Lest he try and take the job off me!!
Welcome Young Crier Zachary, to the Wacky and Wondrous World of Crier-ism.

🎙️ Last week, our very own Adrian J Basford Rugeley Town Crier proudly represented Rugeley as he travelled to BBC Birmingham for an exclusive interview, helping to champion the Rugeley Town Crier Championship 2026 and put our town firmly in the spotlight ahead of the big day.

During his visit, Adrian had the pleasure of speaking with Ed James, one of the Midlands' most recognised broadcasting personalities. Outside of radio, Ed is a columnist for the Birmingham Mail, Chairman of the Birmingham Press Club, and a Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands.🗞️

The interview was a fantastic opportunity to showcase Rugeley, highlight the championship, and celebrate the dedication of everyone involved in bringing this national event to our town.❤️

Now that the championship has been and gone, we can look back with immense pride at what was achieved. From competitors travelling from across the country to the incredible support from local businesses, volunteers, sponsors and residents, the event was a wonderful celebration of tradition, community spirit and everything that makes Rugeley special.🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the championship such a memorable success and to those who continue to help put Rugeley on the map. 📣🏆
