The Roberton Show Committee AGM will be held at Roberton, Forman Memorial Hall on Weds 26th November at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please make it known at the meeting (or via this page or email [email protected]) if you wish to join our happy band of members who strive to keep the show going for future generations. We will be taking nominations for the position of Show Secretary at the meeting.

Anyone can help us both behind the scenes and on the field. We always need more help. Help just on the day, a few hours during setup/takedown, collecting prizes for our raffle and tombola, serving teas, helping on the gate. All abilities and ages are welcome. For information come to the meeting or contact on above details.

Day 5 is prize winners.
I will update these as I get all the information through, but these are anonymous unless you wish to tag or comment yourselves.
Councillor Clair Ramage very kindly came to hand out prizes and trophies at the end of the show, and she had quite a job. Most people hung around for the group photo but some had to get going and take the kids home. Thank you everyone for your entries and taking part.

Day 4 is Dogs.
Our show is perfect for a day out with the kids and the dogs. Alot of people came and had a go at our dog agility course run by our Valleys own Katherine and Richard. From tiny dogs to huge dogs all had a try, some were more successful than others! I'm sure you'll agree they are much a part of our show now as the Raffle or the tea tent. Thank you guys, and Happy Birthday Katherine, who's birthday was show day and who we thanked, for spending it with us, with gin πŸ˜€

Day 3 of show day photos, entertainment and stalls.
We strive to have something for everyone at our show. The TEVIOTDALE STEEL BONNETS showed us how the Reivers lives looked. Apparently they were realistic enough that the local policeman called in!
The archery from Craikhope Outdoor Centre was especially busy this year, thank you to Kevin and Andre for their patience showing us how to shoot arrows safely. Hawick Scout Pipe Band made several appearances and had people dancing and tapping their feet and the craft tent was packed with creativity from local crafters. Thank goodness I got photo as they were just setting up, you couldn't see across the tent at times!

The 2nd day of photos, Childrens games. This year we added to our ever popular children's games section. Noughts and Crosses, Splat the Rat, Co****le, hobby horse races alongside giant Jenga, Connect 4, Snakes and Ladders and duck catching. Bouncy Castle was busy from start until finish and our face painter, PAINT MY FACE, was run off her feet with both kids and adults faces to paint. Hobby horse races appeared for the first time, and were so popular that we plan to include them again next year.

***STOP PRESS***
News just in from the industrial secretary. This year has seen a record number of entries into the industrial tent classes.

844 entries in total, which is 183 up from last year. We have totals back to 2013 and it’s more than any other year.

Record numbers in Arts & Crafts, Preserves, Hand crafted textiles and children’s which had 273, a massive increase of 81!

It would appear that we attract a talented bunch of people, and, it's lovely to see so many children taking part. Children participation is crucial to helping little shows like ours to continue, and thrive for years to come.
