Ringwood Carnival -
A 'festival of fun' for the whole family, raising money for local charities and good causes. Ringwood saw its very first Carnival in 1928!

It was originally set up to fund the purchase of a certain field from local man Mr. Carver, as well as to raise monies for the Royal Victoria & West Hants Hospital. Carnivals followed in 1931 and 1934, when the Coldstream Guards marched through the town in full dress uniform. The first Carnival after the war was in 1950 and has continued every year since. Today the Carnival is Ringwood’s largest and most important annual community event.

Oh yeah - dressed as Where's Wally 🚶‍♂️🤓 ‼️ 😂

🚘There are TWO processions - afternoon at 2pm, Evening (illuminated) at 7:15pm...be in either, or both!

May is officially here, and spring 🌿 activities are popping up all across town 🎉

Some of the Ringwood Carnival crew met in town this morning to help the Eco Fair team with their set up.

If you're in and around Ringwood - make sure you go along and support this fantastic event, hosted by Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency (RACE against time).

At this FREE event, you can enjoy engaging activities 🤹‍♀️ and displays, including educational stalls 👩‍🏫, hands-on demonstrations 👏🏻, and family-friendly activities designed to show how small everyday choices can make a positive impact on the environment. 🌳 💐 ♻️

What a lovely town we live in...Happy Saturday all! ☀️

➡️ We need your help, friends of Ringwood Carnival! 🙏

For the month of September, Ringwood Meeting House & History Centre will be hosting a display - dedicated to the enormous selection of Carnival floats and procession entries that many have seen parade through our town’s streets over the years! 🚗🚚👯‍♂️🤹

It’s called ‘Floating through the years’! 🧞‍♂️

Do YOU 🫵🏻 have any photos of wacky and wonderful float entries? You may have been a part of them, or just spectating 👀

Ringwood has a proud history of glove‑making - and you can be part of celebrating it. Donate an old glove (any type, even singles!) to help create a community artwork by Zest Collective.

Let's face it, it was high time the hands were working...⏰

Way back in 2000, our great town of Ringwood installed a 'Millenium Clock', thanks to the hard work - and collaboration - from Ringwood Society, Ringwood Town Council and New Forest District Council. Located in the main car park, it was a great addition. (see pic with the presiding mayor at the unveiling).

After 25 years, the clock stopped working. Ringwood Carnival donated and paid for the repairs - and now it is fully operational and ensuring we can continue to be proud of our town! ⏰🕰️⏱️

✖️Carnival 2026 inbound! ⬇️

It was our AGM this week and the crew gathered at Greyfriars Community Centre for another superb presentation from our Chairman and workshop (looking at areas of improvement).

As always, we had some fun prizes for members of the team as well AS DATA 📊 TIME! (yes you read that correct!). We're obsessed with data and how we can use it to improve and refine!!

How much was it to put on Carnival 2025? £44,514.29! YUP NOT CHEAP.

❌We kickstarted 2026 with one of our MEGA LITTER PICKS ♻️ TOGETHER with the AWESOME Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency (RACE against time)

We hit the streets of Ringwood & Poulner this morning, splitting into SIX teams - and picked up an ENTIRE Truck load of RUBBISH that had been ditched. ♻️

We of course give special thanks as always to our VEHICLE PARTNER Economy Hire Ringwoodwho support us all year round. We are so grateful! 🙏🏻🚚 🚐

Anything that can be recycled or reused has duly been done (i.e.signs and cones etc.) - and as ever PLENTY of HUBCAPS.

🌞 FINALLY - it's FEBRUARY!. Dry January is over (hopefully the rain will stop soon too), payday has been since before Christmas 🤑 and lighter evenings are ON THEIR WAY! 🌞

We’re already HITTING Carnival 2026 hard, and will continue to make it the biggest event we can with our resources and budget available - making sure it is FREE for our town to Enjoy!

Hang in there Ringwood - SPRING is just around the corner!

❤️💙 Wishing Ringwood a Happy NEW YEAR💙❤️

As we say goodbye to 2025, we look back at what a truly wonderful Carnival we all enjoyed; organised by us, made successful by you = Ringwood. What TRULY wonderful MEMORIES 🙏🏻

There is so much to reflect on across the year from fundraising to volunteering at other events to holding what we hope is the BEST Carnival for our lovely town.

We will leave you with one of our favourite memories: our TRUCK PULL publicity stunt through Ringwood High Street in May. (Did you see it? Where you there?)

Now onto next year...Are we plotting already for Carnival 2026.....?! 🤔 You'll have to see 😉
