Echoes of History

Echoes of History The premier military show in East Anglia In 2022 Echoes Of History has now moved to a new venue near Chelmsford, Essex.

Following a number of successful years at Tilbury Fort, when, due to the declining condition of the site, English Heritage were unable to allow us to continue and so over the next 15 or so years the show moved to various Essex locations and also had some name changes. The new venue: White House Farm, The Living Memorial, Rettendon CM3 8DL
The Living Memorial, a gardens dedicated to the remembranc

e of servicemen both past and present also has several small museums dedicated to the services and military campaigns from WW1 to Afghanistan, as such it provides a fitting location for this event. Echoes Of History now plays host to over 300 vehicles plus history displays, entertainment and arena events and much more. With a public attendance of thousands giving us the opportunity to showcase our hobby and the Charity, Essex Military Vehicle Association, to the public and with it our community involvement. In addition to providing support to a number of organisations such as those who work with ex-service personnel, military charities and local organisations. In order to secure the future and success of further shows, a new independent Charity Essex Historic Military Vehicle Association was formed in 2014. The charity aim is to preserve our military heritage and provide educational support where requested. In addition to presenting Echoes Of History the Charity presents and supports other events in the Essex and surrounding areas. The event organisation and management is undertaken by members who volunteer their time to make it a great family day out. There is free evening entertainment given to exhibitors in our bar area. Echoes of History – 18th & 19th July
Featuring Battlegroup Raydon

Get ready for an unforgettable weekend as Echoes of History 2026 returns this July, bringing together military and living history groups from across the ages.

We’re delighted to welcome back one of our most popular groups, Battlegroup Raydon. Based at the former USAAF Station 157 in Suffolk, this passionate team of ex‑service personnel and military vehicle enthusiasts work to preserve the heritage of the Raydon airfield and the fighter groups once stationed there — including the 357th, 358th and 353rd Fighter Groups of WWII.

They are known for their impressive collection of restored military vehicles, which includes classics such as AEC Militants, Land Rovers, ambulances, armoured vehicles, and Cold War‑era machines. Their hands‑on displays, friendly team, and deep knowledge of the site’s wartime history make them a firm favourite with visitors of all ages.
