✨Saturday Brunch ✨
We still have just a few spaces left for our Saturday brunch tomorrow, which is sure to be one of the highlights of the festival. You can expect a lively chat about food and food production, with our guest panel Graham Harvey, Farmer Shaun (of The Bearded Farmers), Fliss Freeborn and chaired by Orlando Murrin... all while tucking into a breakfast bap courtesy of The Grow Box - Redruth - so it's bound to be scrummy!
About the panelists 👇
Graham Harvey, renowned scriptwriter for The Archers, unveils behind-the-scenes insights in his latest book, 'Underneath the Archers'; a mix of key moments intertwined with personal reflections and script excerpts. Graham is a seasoned writer across various publications, and his work highlights sustainable farming issues, making him an absolute asset to our Saturday Brunch session.
Farmer Shaun is a local legend, previously known as one of The Bearded Farmers, he defies conventional farming methods on his windswept hilltop farm near Redruth. The ethically produced meat and eggs, available in his farm shop and local markets, embody quality and community integration.
Fliss Freeborn grew up in Cornwall and now lives in Glasgow, where she's a food writer. She's BBC R4's The Kitchen Cabinet's youngest panelist, winner of Fortnum and Mason's 2023 Cookery Writer Award, and author of "Do Yourself a Flavour." She's also recently been nominated again in this year's Fortnum and Mason's Cookery Writer Award - go Fliss!
Orlando Murrin, acclaimed chef, and author, takes the helm as the chair of the Brunch Session. Originally catapulted into the culinary limelight as a semi-finalist on MasterChef, Orlando Murrin edited Woman and Home, BBC Good Food and founded Olive magazine; then he switched track to become a chef-hotelier in SW France and Somerset. He has written six cookbooks and is President of the Guild of Food Writers. An ever-popular guest on TV and radio, he presents the BBC Good Food Podcast with Tom Kerridge. We'll also be hearing about his debut crime novel later in the day!
