It’s easy to think toilet struggles are “just a phase” or “just about poo”.
But sometimes, what’s happening beneath the surface is affecting so much more.
A little one who is holding in their poo may be carrying worry, discomfort, fear or embarrassment around with them every day.
And when that weight is lifted, we can sometimes see changes in places we never expected.
For this little girl, mastering pooing on the toilet wasn't just a toileting milestone.
Her confidence grew.
She started joining in.
She began speaking up around her peers.
Her nursery teacher noticed the difference.
Because it was never just about the poo.
If your child is struggling with poo resistance, withholding or toilet anxiety, please don't feel you have to wait and hope it resolves on its own.
Sometimes the right support can make a difference far beyond the toilet.
If you'd like to talk through what's happening with your little one, book in for a free call with me.
