Another fabulous few hours of fun in September's gathering.
Beatnick Skiffle ( Gill and Frank) ensured high energy as always. All the way down from the Devon borders Mike Barker ( jazz guitar) and Gareth Hedges ( blues and Americana ) bought high skill guitar playing and musicianship.
We were treated to Griff's Irish ditties with both humour and pathos while Robin wowed us with high quality singing -especially his version of 'Starry Starry Night".
Eion and Doug provide tunes from Ireland and Scotland on a variety of instruments, Doug's fine voice adding colour to the songs.
Great to see Les back partnering Stan. A fine collection of Americana had us all singing along as did Stan's version of 'Wild Mountain Heather'.
Jason Gammon and Pete treated us to 60's classics from the Turtles and some later pop from the likes of Blancmange and the Kinks and they sang us home with 'Hit the Road Jack'
The lovely voice and gentle guitar playing of Diana Johnston kept us mellow and Sid and Tim ( River Blue ) played some of their own tunes and some covers by Carol King and Simon and Garfunkel.
we counted 40 songs...enjoyed lots of friendly banter and were joined by a small but appreciative audience.
Thanks to Bryan on the bar and The Comrades Club for the lovely space.
Let's do it all again next month!
