We’re delighted to be hosting a fantastic Bead & Jewellery Making Fair here at Probus Village Hall this Saturday.

Whether you’re a passionate jewellery maker, a hobby beader, or simply love all things creative, come along and browse a huge range of string, loose beads, pearls, semi-precious beads, seed beads and findings from Southampton Bead Shop and other specialist traders.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Probus Village Hall AGM last Wednesday.

The past year has been a positive one for the hall, which continues to thrive as a busy and much-valued community hub, supporting a wide range of groups and activities.

With the help of grant funding and many volunteer hours, we have delivered significant improvements, including a new kitchen, upgraded AV and lighting, improved accessibility features, and new sports and activity equipment. Alongside this, we have also strengthened governance and financial planning to help secure the hall’s future for the long term.

At the AGM, updated hire rates and booking conditions were agreed, introducing a clearer and fairer structure that continues to support community and non-profit use while helping to keep the hall financially sustainable.

Most importantly, an overwhelming majority of Probus Parish residents voted in favour of the hall becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). This gives the hall a stronger and more secure legal framework, while keeping the same community-focused purpose at its heart.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers, trustees, hall users and supporters. Your continued commitment provides a strong foundation for the year ahead.

We are also still looking for someone with bookkeeping skills to join the team. If that could be you, we would love to hear from you.

They meet on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 7pm, bringing together woodturning enthusiasts of all abilities for:

Treasurer Needed – Help Keep Our Village Hall Open

Our Village Hall urgently needs a volunteer Treasurer to join the Committee. Without someone in this role, the Hall cannot continue to operate in the longer term.

If you have some experience with basic bookkeeping or accounts and can spare just a few hours each month, you could make a huge difference. Full support and a handover will be provided – you won’t be doing this alone.

This is a vital role in helping to keep our much-loved community space open and thriving for everyone.

If you think you might be able to help, or would like an informal chat about what’s involved, please get in touch.
