MAYORS AMAZING NIGHT
Preston Masonic Hall was delighted and honoured to host THE event of the year, The Charity Ball for The Mayor of Preston The Ballroom was dressed to the nines to welcome that Mayor, her family, friends, guests as well as other Mayors within the County. The latter were quite envious of Sue Whittam’s night!
Guest of honour was no less that that famous son of Preston, Nick Park. To add to the occasion Nick donated signed models of Wallace (without Gromit) and Feather McGraw. The Mayors Consort, Steve Whittam turned auctioneer later in the evening and these models sold for £3000. This was a great boost to the Mayors Charities.
After greeting her guests in full ceremonial robes, The Mayor led the way to the Ballroom, heralded by the Town Cryer also in full ceremonial dress – a sight to behold! Lisa Brown Photos was on hand to capture the reception and diners.
The Ballroom was packed with every table full to capacity. Everyone enjoyed a superb banquet served to the Masonic Hall kitchens by catering partner Burnt Fig . A very high quality meal served to so many people.
The Brothers of Swing provided the live music for the night. As revellers fished off their desserts the Boys crooned around the room, to the surprise of many who were serenaded.
After a short break for the raffle and auction, the Brothers of Swing retuned to keep the party going till late. Everyone enjoyed a great and memorable evening.
