Featuring Jambarolo, a great new Birmingham-based band who play an uplifting mix of brilliant music from Brazil, the nostalgic songs of 50’s and 60’s star Ary Lobo, the raucous dancing music of Mestre Cupijo, funky quirky compositions of uber accordianist Camarao and the beautiful songs and sounds of Samba Pagode; intoxicating, enticing, uplifting.
Jambarolo was founded by Louis Robinson, founder of Sheep Music favourites The Destroyers. "Jambarolo is fresh and fun. Jambarolo is saxophones forever, Maracas, Cuicas and Cavaquinho, Forro Samba Choro Siria! We are coming with the joy and the bounce, with the swing and the sing, lift the gloom dig out your broom and slip on your dancing shoes!"
Liz Ikamba Music's groove-driven riffs fuse with soulful vocals, catchy hooks and harmonies to create a bold and timeless Afro-Soul-Folk sound. Liz is a community musician, songwriter and performer of mixed heritage – British and Congolese (DRC). Liz is inspired by the cross-pollination of cultures, styles and artistic forms. Her music is a Soul-inspired fusion of Jazz, Roots and Latin music, as well as the Congolese Rumba and Soukous music she grew up listening to.
Loose Baker, the compere for the day, will be roaming the site organising games and challenges and at 5pm will be leading the Pub Quiz. Teams from 2 - 6 people, arrange ahead of time or grab whoever you can on the day, who’s the biggest brain at Sheep Music?
Kids activity area - John and Ruth Bray will be teaching Diablo / Sock poi / Staff and Juggling clubs / Sacks + Fire juggling / poi in the evening. Plus art activities: Join the Sidney Nolan Trust and artist Kitty Perceval to shape a community mural with a Presteigne theme. Explore art materials and mark making at largescale.
There will be a well-stocked bar featuring a wide selection of local ales and lagers, wines and soft drinks. Great food from Origin Pizza, Gyros, Lockdown Dhaba, Shepherds Ice Cream and the Sheep Music Tea Shack.
