Our Story

Stone the crows! Hambleton is to host its third annual scarecrow festival between September 22 – 30th, 2018 and everyone in the village is invited to get involved! In support of Hambleton Under 5s Playgroup, families, businesses and community groups are invited to construct a scarecrow and display it in their garden or window for the festival week. On September 30th, there will be a fun day at the Village Hall and a grand prize-giving for the best creations! The theme for 2018 will be 'BOOK CHARACTERS'. So get your thinking caps on for your scarecrow creation - it could be anything!

From Dickens to Dr Seuss, J.K. Rowling, Julia Donaldson, Roald Dahl, Lewis Carroll...the possibilities are endless! As well as raising vital funds for Hambleton Under 5s - which has been providing childcare sessions in the village since the 1960s - we want to celebrate the community we all live in.
