A huge thank you to the 101 Independent Cadet Force for their hard work in the car park at the Overlord Show 2026.

Managing the arrival and parking of thousands of visitors across the weekend is no small task. The cadets and their leaders worked hard to keep vehicles moving, direct visitors and make the best possible use of the available space.

The photographs and time-lapse give some idea of just how busy the car park became and the scale of the job they undertook.

In recognition of their contribution, the Overlord Show has made a donation of £750 to the 101 Independent Cadet Force, which is itself a charity. This will help support the organisation and the opportunities it provides to its young people.

Thank you to all the cadets and leaders who supported us—we greatly appreciate everything you did.

A show like Overlord doesn’t happen without a great many people working behind the scenes.

This photograph brings together some of the members and volunteers from Solent Overlord Executive Military Collectors Club, Waterlooville Air R***e Club, 101 Troop ICF and Dispatches Magazine who helped make the Overlord Show 2026 possible.

Unfortunately, it proved impossible to find a time when everyone could be brought together for the photograph. Many more people contributed their time and effort before, during and after the show, and our thanks go equally to everyone who helped.

Whether you spent months helping us prepare, worked throughout the show weekend or stayed behind to help return the site to normal afterwards, your contribution was greatly appreciated.

Exciting news for the re-enactment and living history community.

Dispatches Magazine has launched The Dispatches Network — a new national platform built for the hobby. It brings groups together with a public profile on an interactive UK map, a community forum, practical resources and risk-assessment templates, printed copies of Dispatches Magazine delivered every quarter, individual member accounts, a group affiliation and referral scheme, and a growing national network of groups, living historians and event organisers.

We’ve been a little quiet on here recently, but we’re still here!

After a short break following this year’s show, we’ll soon be sharing a few final updates from the Overlord Show 2026, including some important thank-yous to the many people and organisations who helped make it possible.

After that, attention will turn to the Overlord Show 2027. More soon!
