Lakeside North Harbour U18 Cycle Coaching Open to Youth & Junior riders (U18) Balance bikes, Helmet mandatory. Technical Skills & Groupwork 😎 Delivered by British Cycling qualified coaches.

Open to youth and junior riders (U18) Schedule: 09:00-09:15 'Sign on'. 09:15-11:30 Main session. By 12:00 all riders and 'support crew' clear of site (10 minute mid-session break). Group riding and skills session to equip young riders with both handling and racing techniques. We ask that riders are able to ride their bikes without stabilisers. However, we are happy for riders to use 'balance bikes' or normal bikes with pedals removed. We will assist - where we can - rider transition from balance bike 'scoot' to 'pedalling'. Depending on coach availability. Please also check out www.readysetride.co.uk where games and progressing from 'scoot to pedal' tips and information can be found. An Android & iOS app is also free to download. A bike, clothing & helmet check will be carried out prior to the session and 'signing-on' for the British Cycling List of Attendees. The cost for the coaching session is FREE. If any parents wish to make a small contributory payment they can , which we will put towards further kit and our Christmas prizes for 'Best Decorated Bike' and 'Best Decorated Rider' (however, everyone gets mince pies and chocolates/sweets). A Parental Consent Form (Traffic-free Coaching) is required for new riders - if you haven't filled one in before use the link to download the form, print it off, complete it and bring it to the session - or we do have some onsite that can be filled in. There will be car parking available for the 'support vehicles' and toilet facilities available near the front of the Main Building (looks like a tented area) where you find Subway and Starbucks. Support Crew to remain on site please. To drive to the Car Park A, you have to pass along the main carparks and turn right (Car Park A is signposted). Once you get to the back road take the right turn (sign posted Car Park A) then at the end of the road, drive through the open red-flashing barrier to the car park - thank you. Relatively easy to get to - exit Junction 12 and turn right towards Cosham/Portsmouth. Leaving the first roundabout for Lakeside. If you pass the Porsche Garage, you've missed us. Well that’s a wrap for now. Great to see the riders this morning and their support crews.
Some great riding by those who progressed on to the big course. Everyone learning a bit more.
Thank you for everyone’s efforts we will add more information about future sessions when we have secured a new location.
