🥃🏃‍♀️ We’re absolutely delighted that Isle of Raasay Distillery are partnering with the Skye Half Marathon & 10K this year and generously donating prizes for our winners! 🏆✨

Opened in 2017 as the first legal distillery in the history of Raasay, the distillery has quickly become one of Scotland’s most celebrated whisky destinations. Every drop of Raasay whisky is distilled, matured and bottled on the island itself — a true Hebridean island product. 🌊⛰️

In 2025, their Cask Strength Single Malt was named Best Scotch Whisky in the World at the Global Spirit Awards in Las Vegas with an incredible score of 99/100! 🥃🔥

🚌🏃‍♀️ A huge thank you to Stagecoach Buses Portree for once again supporting the Skye 10K this Saturday 13th June by providing THREE courtesy buses to transport our runners to the start line! 👏 We can't thank them enough.

The Skye 10K has become one of the most scenic and unique 10k's in Scotland, and with entries capped at just 240 runners, places are nearly gone. 📝 Registration & Number Collection - Fingal Centre, Portree High School

Friday 12th June: 5.00pm – 8.00pm
Saturday 13th June: 8.30am – 9.15am

🚌 Courtesy Bus Departure - All 10K runners must be on the buses at the front of Portree High School by 9.40am sharp for transport to the start line.

The Skye 10K starts at approximately 10.30am.

The Skye Half Marathon & 10K is now just 7 days away, and it's shaping up to be another fantastic day of running, community spirit, and spectacular island scenery.

The current forecast is suggesting a little rain, temperatures around 10°C, and a light breeze—although we're still holding out hope for a bit more sunshine! After all, there's plenty of time for the weather to change. ☀️

🚨 HELP NEEDED – CAMBUSLANG → SKYE HALF MARATHON 🚨

We’re looking for a bit of help with the Skye Half Marathon & 10K this weekend.

We need someone to:
📦 Collect 4 largeish (but not heavy) bags from an address in Glasgow, Cambuslang on Friday 12th.
🚗 AND - transport them back to Cambuslang on Sunday or Monday.

It’s a simple but really important job that helps us get everything in place for race day on Saturday 13 June.

What a week it’s shaping up to be Skye next week… loads going on, including the Skye Half Marathon & 10K [got your ticket yet?]. And the week will finish in true island style! 🌟

If you've still got the legs, post Skye Half Marathon & 10K, get yourself down to the Final Fling Ceilidh Dance, hosted by Light Up Portree, bringing Skye Week to a close with a night of music, dancing and celebration! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️➡️💃

Whether you ran, marshalled, cheered, volunteered (or just enjoyed from a safe distance 😄), this is your chance to relax, celebrate and enjoy a well-earned night out with the community.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – SKYE HALF MARATHON & 10K 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

As we get ready for this year's Skye Half Marathon & 10K on Saturday 13th June, we'd like to give residents and visitors advance notice of the temporary road closures that will be in place to keep everyone safe.

The event brings hundreds of runners and visitors to Skye each year and raises thousands of pounds for local charities, community groups and good causes. ❤️

The following roads will be temporarily closed:

⏰ B8036 – 09:45 to 12:15

⏰ A850 to A87 – 10:10 to 12:30

⏰ C1233 from A850 to B885 – 10:10 to 12:50

⏰ B885 to A87 – 10:10 to 13:20

During these times, the closed roads will only be accessible to exempt vehicles, primarily emergency services responding under blue lights.

We appreciate that road closures can be inconvenient and would encourage everyone to plan ahead where possible. Roads will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so, and we'll be working closely with Police Scotland, traffic management teams and our volunteer marshals to keep disruption to a minimum.

🙏 Please remember that our marshals are volunteers giving up their time to help deliver this fantastic community event. We'd be grateful if all runners, spectators and road users could treat them with patience, courtesy and respect.

The Skye Half Marathon & 10K simply wouldn't happen without the support and understanding of local residents, businesses and the wider community. Thank you for your patience, cooperation and goodwill, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

The Skye Half Marathon & 10K simply wouldn't happen without the incredible volunteers who give up their time to help make race day such a success - and we want to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU ❤️

As we count down to race day on Saturday 13th June, we're still looking for a few more marshals and volunteers to join our amazing team. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Whether you can spare a couple of hours or the whole day, we'd love to hear from you. There are lots of different roles available, from helping direct runners and cheering them on around the course, to assisting in the event village and finish area. 📣🚩🏅

Not only will you be helping deliver one of Skye's biggest community events, but you'll be supporting an event that raises funds for local charities, community groups and good causes across the island. 🤝💙

The Skye Half Marathon & 10K on Saturday 13th is delighted to be a part of it as we welcome runners from across the UK to experience one of the most scenic courses in the country 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
