2026 Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K sells out 🔥

The only way people can now get involved in all the fun on Sunday 5 July, is either through securing one of just a handful of places left with the event’s lead charity Tŷ Hafan, or in one of the supporting junior races.

Running For Mair: Sian's Story 💙

A mother-of-four from Llandough will be taking part in the Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K to raise money for Lead Charity, Tŷ Hafan Children's Hospice.

Sian Kelly, 56, is running in memory of her daughter Mair who had lots of love and support from the children’s hospice.

During Sian’s pregnancy doctors discovered Mair was going to be small. However, when she was born in May 2002, she was struggling to breathe and she was put on a ventilator in intensive care. Doctors carried out tests and that’s when she was diagnosed with Edwards Syndrome, a rare genetic condition caused by an extra copy of chromosome 18.

It meant she’d experience significant developmental delays and was unlikely to survive past her first birthday. We're behind you every step of the way, Sian.

Who are Ty Hafan, the Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K Lead Charity?

Tŷ Hafan Children's Hospice is a charity based in Wales. They provide specialist palliative care that supports the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of every member of the family.

Founded by Suzanne Goodall, Tŷ Hafan was born from a determination to change the fact that Wales had no children’s hospice provision. Her fundraising campaign began in 1990 and led to the hospice opening in 1999 as the first of its kind in Wales.

Last year, between 2025 and 2026, it cost £7.7 million to provide our care. In 2026 to 2027, we expect this to rise to £8.4 million. 💙
