Despite the heatwave - rehearsals for Blue Stockings continue a-pace!

Props are beginning to make an appearance as the cast practice moves and scene changes on top of lines and character development.

There’s a lot of behind the scenes work being done by our fabulous props / costume and tech team too; who are involved through much of the rehearsal process.

Phew. We’re exhausted just thinking about it!

This show has everything - culture, history, politics and lots of laughs too - you really don’t want to miss it!

What happens when four young women decide they want more than the world is willing to give them?

Education.
Independence.
A voice of their own.

Jessica Swale’s Blue Stockings is set in 1896 Cambridge, but you’ll probably recognise a few of the themes…

Women fighting to be heard.
Battles over education and equality.
Questions about who gets power, opportunity and autonomy over their own future.

Sound familiar?

Funny, sharp, romantic and fiercely moving, this is a play full of ambition, friendship, debate and rebellion.

Meet our Blue Stockings girls:
Tess, Maeve, Carolyn and Celia.

Played by the hugely talented Rosie, Megan, Gemma and Alice, who are doing beautiful work bringing these characters to life already.

The girls together.

Who backs each other.

DRACULA

This isn’t the Dracula you think you know.
It’s bold, unsettling, and full of atmosphere. A gothic world where desire and danger are tangled up together and where the real question is not just what’s out there… but why we let it in.

Think tension.
Think transformation.
Think characters pushed right to the edge.

It’s going to be a proper ensemble piece with loads to get your teeth into (sorry, had to).

After the incredible response to our original announcement, we’ve decided to bring it forward.
