BFX Festival One of the largest visual FX, computer animation & games festivals in the UK
1 - 5 June 2026 BFX Festival is all about celebrating VFX, Animation and Games.

Designed to inspire the next generation of talent and share the latest knowledge it also aims raise the profile of Bournemouth as a centre of excellence for the creative industries by showcasing the cutting edge in Animation, VFX and Games from around the world. BFX opens in November by an exciting 5-day programme of events delivered by leading studios and artists. These presentations and workshop

s are entertaining, educational and inspirational and highlight the amazing work of the creative and technical artists behind the latest blockbuster movies and games. BFX is now recognised on the international stage for its world class content and is must for VFX, Animation and Games students, industry and enthusiasts! The festival culminates in a two-day family weekend aimed at enthusiasts aged 8-18, boasting an array of educational, engaging and fun workshops, talks and demos to enthuse and inform on the routes to this ever-expanding industry. BFX Horror & The Uncanny 2026 🖤

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Patch - Work Near Home Bournemouth for an evening of horror, animation, filmmaking, games, writing, and discussion.

The event brought together students, academics, filmmakers, artists, industry practitioners, and horror fans for a programme of screenings followed by a panel discussion exploring horror across film, animation, real-time production, games, and storytelling.
