Ponty Big Bang Ponty Big Bang is a charitable fundraising event organised by Pontypridd & Rhondda Round Table. Ponty Big Bang is the annual Pontypridd Fireworks Event.

Gates for the event open at 17:00 and the fireworks will start at 19:00 sharp. The display will last for approximately 20 minutes. This is a charitable event with all proceeds donated to local charities, clubs and organisations supported by Pontypridd & Rhondda Round Table.

Its hard to find things to do with the kids over half term when the weather is like this isn't it!

Luckily it looks like all the bad weather will be over by the second half of half term and we are in for a dry and (seasonally) warm weekend.

Give the kids something to look forward to with tickets to the BIGGEST firework display in South Wales this weekend! - and its right here in Pontypridd!

Group tickets are available until FRIDAY only (we only have single tickets available on the day as we have to manage capacity) and can save you as much as 50% on buying tickets individually. They are suitable for families or any group of 5 people.

We have been asked a lot why the Big Bang is on Halloween this year. So we wanted to clear it up.

We are all volunteers, every penny the Big Bang makes goes to local charities. Therefore the 3 day set up and take down needs to be over a weekend so we can all get time off work.

We cant hold an event in the park on Remembrance weekend, I think we can all agree that Remembrance Sunday rightfully is a lot more important!

We need a large enough venue - this is the biggest fireworks event in South Wales - it needs a lot of space, and needs to be accessible as possible for the thousands of you who come and support.

We did consider moving the event to the Sunday, but it would likely mean families would struggle to come with it being a 'School Night' - especially at the end of half term.

We could have cancelled this years - but that would mean we have a lot less funds to give to local charities who we support.\

So we made the decision to go all in Halloween:-
Free Face Painting for children
Halloween themed event
Fire Breathing
Trick or Treating for children (thanks Tesco for their support with this)
So much more...

Gates open at 4:30 and the fireworks will go off at 7:15 (gates are closing at 7 so please don't arrive late) we hope this gives families time to enjoy everything extra we have put on, but also other Halloween things they have on too.

In under 10 days time the gates will be open for the Ponty Big Bang 2026 - Firework Spooktacular.

Remember gates are opening earlier this year (16:30) and we will close the gates for entry at 19:00 so as to avoid delays to set off that we have had in previous years.

Make sure to arrive early to make the most of the FREE facepainting and our amazing fire breather who will be doing 2 shows from 18:00 onwards as we count down to the show.

We are so excited to open the gates to everyone on 31st October for the Ponty Big Bang 2026 - Firework Spooktacular.

Gates open earlier this year - from 4:30pm

We have FREE face painting and Trick or Treating for the kids, and other spooky surprises too.

Plus we are extending the entertainment with 2 shows from a Fire Breather kicking off from 6pm - so make sure to get in early to make the most of the build up.

We have also acted on your feedback with more spaces for disabled attendees and those with buggies etc. More food options (for all price points), a bigger and better fair, more toilets (including accessible toilets and baby change). GTFM are now centre of the field to bring a much bigger party atmosphere we could go on and on.

Even better this is all for charity. So please get your tickets today!
