It’s been great seeing all of the positive feedback since this years Pitsford Kayak Grand Slam.

It’s even better seeing the event from your perspective, as you can see from Charles Fishwish Halliday who had a great competition, and was able to put together a great post event video.

🎣 PITSFORD KAYAK GRAND SLAM 2026 – RESULTS ARE IN! 🎣

Now the dust has settled on what can be described as the “BEST” kayak fishing event of the year, it’s time to reflect on what happened…

What a weekend!

A huge thank you to all 44 anglers who joined us on the water this year, matching our biggest ever field.

Whether you were battling for the top spot or just soaking up the atmosphere, you made this event what it is.

🏆 TOP INDIVIDUAL

1st place goes to Tiberiu Nica with an incredible total of 676 – taking home the Lowrance HDS Pro 9 screen and transducer. Huge congratulations!

Right behind him (almost): David Jacobs (2nd, 580) and Richard Archer (3rd, 575).

🚣 TOP TEAM
Congratulations to “DJ Wood and MC Costa-Pick” – Dane Wood, Ian Pickering and Savio Costa – for taking the team event with a combined 154! Epic!

🐟 BIGGEST SPECIES
Biggest Perch: Graham Shaw – 42cm (3 pixels short of 43cm)

Biggest Pike: Paul Monaghan – 98cm. Cracking fish!

Biggest Trout: Mike McGuire – 54cm

A special mention to Ian Pickering, who has now fished every single Grand Slam since it began back in 2016 – nine events, nine appearances. Incredible dedication. Plus a huge part of the PKGS event team!

We were also thinking of Eddie Edwards, who has matched that record every year but couldn’t be with us this time – we were all thinking of you, Eddie, you were hugely missed.

We have all the lures sorted, prizes prepared and banners flying.

Definitely glad we booked the nice weather!

We are looking forward to our briefing at 8am tomorrow and fishing commencing at 9am.

We are doing things differently this year!

As well as the main PKGS trophy which our winner will have their name engraved onto, the top 3 anglers will also get to take away one of our unique event trophies!!

These look even better up close!

We will have a little display setup Friday for everyone to see them all along with some Rapala literature to have a read through.

Who is going to be the 2026 Pitsford Kayak Grand Slam winner?!

That lucky person not only takes the main trophy for the next 12 months, plus a trophy they can keep, as well as a spread of Rapala goodies, they also get to take home with them this incredible prize sponsored by Lowrance!!

The HDS Pro comes with a 3-1 Active Imaging transducer which is incredibly good, especially with side scan paired with this unit.
