Well, what a weekend Pickering! 🤩

We're still wrapping up from an incredible weekend at Pickering but we just wanted to drop in and say a HUGE thank you. 👏

Thank you to all the suppliers, the amazing traders, chefs, entertainers, and most of all, the attendees that came to our first ever food festival at Pickering. A special thank you to Yorkshire Food Guide for doing a cracking job hosting the cookery theatre again. We could not have done this without you all. 🥙🎭🥂

The weather certainly looked after us and thank you to those who stuck with us through the heat of the weekend 🍻

With your help, we have also raised more money for the local mental health charity in the area. This money contributes towards befriending, counselling and support for those in need. 😊

We have some brilliant shots from the event and we will be sharing these in due course. For now, we will leave you with a few highlights. 📷

WELL, WHAT A WEEKEND PICKERING! 😍

We are still clearing up from what has been a fantastic weekend 😃

Stayed tuned for tomorrow's post which will be more thank yous' and highlights of the weekend. 👏

For now, we would like to start off by thanking our wonderful stewards. Without you we wouldn't have a clean festival, tidy car parks, a joyous smile amongst that heat and much much more. 👐

We have plenty to quench that thirst and fill that tummy 🍽️

Grab a program filled full of our entertainment and chef demo lineup for today 🎭

The forecast says it's cloudy for most of the day, but feel free to bring sun shelters or umbrellas should you wish for later in the day when warm, and keep hydrated too 🥛

If you are bringing your pooches, there is a water station to the left of the main bar. Like ourselves, keep an eye on their welfare 🐩

As the sun is going down we would like to say thank you, to you all who came down to taste the delicious food, bought produce, had a tipple, listened to the outstanding music and watch the live entertainment/chef demos 🥘 🍹 🎭 🍽️

It is going to be a slightly hotter day tomorrow so come prepared for the beautiful blue sky ☀️ 🥛 ⛱️

😍 Sam Pullan - Bear at Carriages

🍽️ As head chef and joint owner of renowned North Yorkshire gastro pub The Bear at Carriages, award winning chef Sam Pullan is no stranger to creating a stir in the gastro world.

🥑 In the two years since it opened, The Bear at Carriages has created a reputation for truly fantastic food all focused around open fire cooking. The aptly named Bear Pit (which is housed in The Bear’s iconic garden) is a roaring, solid fuel fire pit from which the majority of the dishes are created ; all using seasonal and locally sourced produce wherever possible.

🌮 Sam’s background is based in creativity with a successful career in design before moving direction and retraining as a chef. Mainly self taught, Sam’s first foray into food was creating and running a successful catering company specialising primarily in events.

🥄 From his base in Leeds, Sam worked with an impressive international client base including Gucci, Grey Goose Vodka and Coach, delivering restaurant quality food in challenging and unusual venues. From exposed mountain sides to disused mills, Sam has cooked in and delivered exceptional food in the most diverse of environments.

🍜 Jon brings his true love of local and sustainable food to the Feversham Arms Hotel in Helmsley. His aim is to showcase the best local producers and growers on his menu – seasonal and fresh Yorkshire produce at its best.

🍚 Jon’s passion for British food is echoed throughout his menus, offering lunchtime classics such as Moules Frites just in time for summer, with locally sourced Loin of Yorkshire Beef and North Sea Halibut taking centre stage on the evening A La Carte menu.

🍠 With a firm background in different cuisines (Mediterranean, Spanish & Japanese to name a few), Tobias champions the extensive Yorkshire larder at Origin; borrowing flavours and techniques from around the world and presenting them with focus and flare, in the form of small plates.
