π Volunteers' Week Spotlight: Meet Gabriela β The Heart Behind Bring Festival π
Behind every great community event is someone with a vision, and for Bring Eye Summer Festival, that person is Gabriela.
Less than five years ago, Gabriela moved to Eye with her young family and quickly realised that something was missing from village life... a festival! She wanted to create a safe, welcoming space where families, friends, neighbours, and visitors of all ages could come together and enjoy a fantastic day out right on their doorstep, without the cost and hassle of travelling elsewhere.
With a simple idea and a post on social media, Gabriela put out feelers to find like-minded people. A small team came together, and the plan was born. Starting with nothing but enthusiasm and determination, and with the incredible support of local businesses and the community, the festival has grown year after year.
Every raffle ticket purchased, every fundraising event attended, and every person who comes along to enjoy the music and activities helps make our community stronger. All funds raised are reinvested directly into creating an even better festival for the following year.
As a mother, wife, daughter, aunty, niece, and someone who works full-time, Gabriela's dedication and passion for making the festival a success is truly inspiring. While we have a wonderful group of volunteers already, we're always looking for more helping hands.
