We are recruiting for our wonderful army of volunteers for the second edition of the Scone Palace International Horse Trials and we would love to hear from you.

We are on the lookout for volunteers to cover a wide range of roles and shifts from Wednesday 26th – Sunday 30th August 2026.

From fence judging to collecting-ring stewarding and everything in between, volunteering at Scone is something that can be done with your friends or family, right at the core of our sporting action.

It wouldn't be possible to give you all the reasons why we're so excited for Scone Palace International Horse Trials' second year - there would be far too many to list!

One of the most important reasons, though, would certainly be how unwaveringly positive all of the feedback was after our first ever fixture.

We couldn't have been more pleased to hear that so many people had enjoyed, recommended and already planned to return to Scone for 2026.

Sending our warmest congratulations to Ros Canter and her whole team following their historic result at Badminton Horse Trials over the weekend.

To win at CCI5* level is a huge achievement, but to do it on so many occasions and in such style is something quite different.

Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo become the first horse and rider combination to win Badminton three times, and to add this to their tally of two back-to-back Burghley victories really is one for the history books.

And if that wasn't enough... Ros won Burghley while pregnant in September, and she now has a 15-week old baby and is breaking records all the while. It really is something else and we are beyond impressed.

A look through the archives, pt. 5 🧐

In part three, we remembered Captain J. J. Beale’s win of the Hallyburton Perpetual Cup at the Central Scotland Horse Trials, held at Scone, in 1961 on board Anonymous, who went on to compete at Badminton. Jeremy Beales himself was also a Burghley winner in 1965!

We also found this clipping from 1963, Capt Beales’ wife, Gillian, had her own rather extraordinary moment in the sun at Scone, tying with herself in the Open Individual Challenge Cup, having ridden both the aforementioned Anonymous and Just William to jointly win the class.

A fun bit of Scone history featuring a very talented couple!
