It's finally safe to say that the eternal winter is behind us, I hope! The sun is shining, which means I've finally been getting out and about with my camera after a bit of a break!

We recently took Ghost out for a little shoot and she had the BEST time. It's so nice to have such beautiful, friendly and adventurous cats! We take them out and about quite often and they make people smile every single time. Pumpkin also just had a little day out for his own shoot and I can't wait to share those photos with everyone!

Would you like photos of your pets having a lovely time in the sun, too? Or know someone who would? Answer below or tag a friend, as I'd love to do more pet shoots if anyone's interested?

A fun perk of being a photographer is that you have everything you need on hand to make your own Christmas cards, so this year our friends and family have had a ridiculously cute card with Pumpkin and Ghost feeling festive in their little Santa outfits! Now that they've all been delivered, I can finally share these photos without spoiling the surprise!

Pumpkin and Ghost did great with their Halloween shoot a couple of months ago, but they did even better this time; they were so cosy and comfy that they just snuggled and had a little nap on the rug! There'll be some play time shots in the next batch, but for now we're just going to feel that warm, cosy winter vibe that we all love, right?

I was hoping to get these on sale on my website in time for Christmas, but after a round of cold and a really busy time with our Sleepy Leaf Etsy store, I just couldn't find the time! But they'll be available at some point, as well as a new set next year, no doubt!

If you haven't already followed the Sleepy Leaf page, what are you waiting for?! We sell handmade jewellery and laser-engraved items inspired by our favourite games and characters, but we're also open to commissions! Over the last few weeks, the laser hasn't stopped as we've pumped out countless engraved coasters featuring our designs, as well as custom commissions for Christmas gifts and it's really heart-warming that our items will be under so many Christmas trees, spreading joy on the 25th! We'll be aiming to expand further in 2026 and every Like, Share and Comment goes a long way in helping us grow, so thanks for all your support on both pages!

Happy Halloween!

I hope you've all had a wonderful day dressing up as ghouls and ghosts while stuffing your face's with all the sweets you could get your hands on!

Given that our beautiful cats are called Pumpkin and Ghost, we took the opportunity to give them their own little Halloween photo shoot to celebrate! We had such a fun time turning our living room into a little studio for them, and they had so much fun dressing up a little and exploring their Spooky Scratchy Witch House! Make sure to flick through and check them all out!

Don't forget to Like and Share if you think they're adorable.😍🤣

Any guesses where these were taken?

I may not have made it out in time for the red moon, but I did have a wonderful evening on the beach taking these photos! I bought a 14mm 1.4 Sigma lens a while back now for this exact purpose, but for some reason I hadn't made the time to go out and make the most of it! With a full moon draped across the sky, I felt like it would be a good evening to go out and take it for a spin.

The wide angle lens really opens up your options when it comes to composition in a way that none of my other lenses ever could, and the fact that it can allow so much light in really lets you capture sights you'd never dream of otherwise. I sat there for a couple of hours, experimenting with slower shutter speeds to get this dreamy motion of the waves in some shots, or capturing different reflections across the sea, or waiting for just the right moment when the clouds illuminated with the moon behind. I don't know if it will come across as well with the compressed Facebook versions, but the other thing I love about these photos is the power of the stars in the sky: the wide lens allowed me to capture everything from the pebbles at my feet to the very top of the sky, and the range of colours between the two is just stunning, with more and more stars shining through towards the top.

Much love to my fiancée for coming down to surprise me with a hot bowl of pasta, too! That made a lovely evening even better. I'll definitely be doing it again!

Disneyland Paris, what can I say?! I'd always wanted to go but never thought I'd have the chance to, and then last October I finally went and it was...Magical. I wondered before going if it would still feel special going as an adult - without children, I may add - or if it would all just feel a bit silly, but let me tell you, the magic is still there.

We spent four days there before staying in Paris for another few days, and it was without a doubt the best holiday I've ever had. They've put so much thought into every little detail around the entire resort to make sure that everything brings you joy. It doesn't matter if you're not into rollercoasters or thrill rides at all, they don't really matter all in the grand scheme of things because there's just so much to see and do! The hotels are stunning, the food is incredible, the sights are astounding and the shops are FULL of incredible things you'll want to buy - and they'll be cheaper than you expected too! There's such a wide range of areas and themes around the park that there's something for everyone, no matter what your tastes are or how old you are. Looking back through these photos brought all those feelings back and I already can't wait to go again!

If you're ever tempted, just take the plunge and go for it; you won't regret it.

Wrapping up my trip to Paris with a bit of culture! The galleries and museums in Paris are incredible and absolutely worth a look while you're there, if you're into that! We didn't have time for the Louvre, sadly, but we did manage to squeeze in a few other ones! Can you guess which ones from the photos?

There was one other place that we visited while in France that I have some really fun photos of: shall we look at Disneyland Paris tomorrow?

A few more from Paris! As soon as I saw this building during our walk along the Seine, I recognised it as "The Gojira Building". Whilst I've never been a fan of the French metal band, their historic Olympics performance was a huge moment of appreciation and representation for the genre and will be remembered for years to come, so it was really exciting to see where it happened first hand!

When taking the third photo in this set, I was really struck by the perfect vertical divide: the two starkly opposing colours of the trees, as well as the shade continuing the line down the path. I did have to edit out the unfortunate man that was accidentally ruining the shot just by taking his morning walk, but otherwise the shot made itself!

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to all of the new followers that have joined this week! Every single Like, Comment and Share makes the world of difference to helping a Page grow and find new audiences, so I really appreciate it! With that out of the way, let's take another look at France, shall we?

The Louvre. Another place you'll see in countless TV shows, movies and other forms of media, and yet it's still so much more impressive than you'd ever imagine. The sheer scale of it all is far beyond anything I'd ever imagined. We didn't have enough time to venture inside, sadly, but we really enjoy the outside. I remember hearing that the addition of the glass Pyramid was quite controversial when it was first introduced, given how it contrasts with the original stone architecture, but personally I loved it. It looks amazing and the combination of old and new feels really refreshing and special. It also makes for some wonderful photo opportunities!

Finishing my appreciation of The Eiffel Tower: here's some more photos taken during our beautiful walk along the Seine. We were blessed with 26 degree heat at the end of October and we really made the most of it! We walked through most of Paris that day, taking in all of the sights along the way, with the Eiffel Tower guiding the way.

I really love looking back at all of the photos and seeing it from so many angles, getting bigger and bigger as we get closer, until we're seeing the incredible architecture from beneath. Check out the last photos for the view from the top!

I've finally got some spare time to catch up and go through some of the photos I've taken over the last year but haven't had the time to work on! First up: Paris!

We had the most incredible holiday last October. We took the Eurostar to Paris, then spent a few days in Disneyland before heading back to Paris for a few days. It was by far the best holiday I've ever had and looking back through these photos has brought back some wonderful memories!

I'm going to start with my favourite photos from the whole trip, because I simply cannot wait to share them. As we were walking along the Seine, getting closer and closer to The Eiffel Tower, we took plenty of lovely photos, but none compare to these. The sky went black as the sun passed behind the very top of the tower, leaving me with a minute or so to capture some incredible photos. The silhouette of the tower with the sun perfectly positioned behind was genuinely mesmerising, and I'm so glad I had my camera ready to capture the moment. I could've instantly exported these photos without any processing whatsoever and come away happy, but they make a perfect canvas for some more stylistic takes.

More to follow.
