What a day! 🌧️💨

Wild weather made for a true test out on the courses today, but you all took it in your stride and did brilliantly! 🤘

A huge well done to every runner who battled the elements and crossed the finish line. Thanks also to our amazing volunteers, marshals and supporters who kept smiling through the wind and rain.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Our Running with Poles Course is well underway! 🥢

The weather may be miserable, but that hasn’t stopped today’s Running with Poles course.

Participants are learning key pole techniques for climbing, descending and moving efficiently across varied terrain before putting those skills straight into practice on the trails. A wet day in the hills is often the best time to discover what really works.

Two new course records, a stacked field, and some seriously quick running on the climbs above Great Langdale.

A special mention goes to Bobby Gard Story, who stopped the clock at an awesome 25:21 to take the win and set a new course record. Having already got the better of Race Director Charlie at a skimo race over the winter 😉

All smiles here as the 2026 Scafell Skyrunning Weekender gets underway! 😁⛰️

The action kicked off with the Stickle Grind 650, where runners took on a lung-busting climb straight out of Great Langdale and into the heart of the Lake District fells.

A tough start, incredible views, and a weekend of skyrunning adventures still to come. 🔥

Saturday 6th June at we are taking the sound system into Langdale valley to support the Scafell Skyrace Weekender organised by / with a bunch of live DJs and live musicians.
