Skelton Show Skelton Show – A great family day out in a picturesque location Each year a new president is elected with the Chairman holds office for four years.

Skelton Show has been running since the late 1800's and grown from a small local show held in the village to one of the major agricultural shows in Cumbria. It is now held on the first Saturday in July in the picturesque setting of the Old Park at Hutton in the Forest near Penrith (3miles NW of M6 Jun 41)

The show has a large horticultural and industrial marquee and classes of cattle, sheep, horses, dogs, vintage vehicles, fur and feathered animals and Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling. With well over 150 trade stands, a gift and crafts tent, Skelton Food Hall, a wide variety of entertainment, music, food and bar it has a reputation for being a great day out in the Country for all the family. It is run by a committee of volunteers and exists to promote the interests of those engaged in horticulture, farming and agriculture by providing facilities for competition, the sharing of information and best practice. An event of this size is always looking for volunteers so if you would like to help us on show day please contact our secretary. Schedules containing details of the wide variety of classes are issued at the end of April and entries need to be made by the middle of June. Tenders for fast food and ice cream are sought each December and applications for trade exhibitor space can be made from January.

We've got classes for young handlers in beef, dairy and sheep for a variety of ages!
Dairy & Beef Young Handler:
- 10 years and under
- 11-16 years
- 17-26 years
Animal can be any age; please note no bulls over 12 months.

Sheep Young Handler:
- 10 years and under
- 11-16 years
Sheep any age male or female.

Well what can we say? For many years we’ve struggled with providing a WiFi signal at Skelton Show to enable our amazing traders to take card payments. Many IT experts have tried, and all have failed, often leaving heartbroken and in tears with the voices of angry stall holders ringing in their ears😢 But then, out of the blue came 1Five Events & Film and PJ Mulheron-Summers 😃😃 We can sort this, he said And true to his words he did! 👏👏👏👏
So now we have lots of happy traders, able to take card payments all day long😃😃
So a big “well done” to PJ and if you need WiFi at your event, he’s your man!
But if you need him on Skelton Show day next year, I’m afraid he’s already booked 😜😂
