Pauntley Village Hall Village Hall We are fortunate to have a fast fibre broadband connection at the hall.

As part of their continued commitment to empowering rural communities, Gigaclear’s Community Hub Scheme has kindly provided our fast fibre broadband connection free of charge, including a free broadband service for the first year. This has benefitted hall users including the parish council who meet at the hall, Guiding and Scouting groups who use the hall for meetings and camping, and classes such as Pilates where participants are able to join via Zoom. We are very grateful to Gigaclear for supporting our village hall and enabling us to extend its use by the community. If you are planning an event which would benefit from a good broadband connection please get in touch with us and come to visit the hall.

Friday 25th September. Macmillan Coffee Morning, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning at the village hall takes place on Friday 25th September from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. at Pauntley Village Hall. Please come along for tea, coffee and cakes, and help us raise money for people living with cancer. Donations of cakes would be very welcome, and if you would like to help we would be glad of some extra helpers on the day.

Saturday 3rd October. Film Evening – Hamnet (12a). 7.00 p.m. for 7.30 p.m.

Hamnet tells the powerful love story behind the creation of Shakespeare’s timeless masterpiece, Hamlet. After losing their son to the plague, Agnes and William Shakespeare grapple with grief in 16th-century England. A healer, Agnes must find the strength to care for her surviving children while enduring profound loss. The film was primarily shot in Herefordshire, with Weobley chosen for its beautifully preserved Tudor-era landscapes and architecture.

Just a reminder about our Pauntley Village Hall 100 Club.

Our new 100 Club year starts on 1st September and membership forms are now available. These have been sent out to existing members to ask if they would like to rejoin for another year, but we do have some numbers available if you are not a member and would like to join.

Our 100 Club raises valuable funds for the upkeep and running of Pauntley Village Hall and for its refurbishment. To date the monies raised have been key in helping us achieve several of our refurbishment projects, including the installation of solar panels and a storage battery, upgrades to the audio-visual equipment and installation of acoustic panels, and the treatment and painting of the kitchen walls and purchase of a new cooker. We still have a number of other projects being developed, so that we can continue to improve our hall.

Mike Manning's famous quiz takes place at Pauntley Village Hall on Saturday 19th September, 7.00 pm for 7.30 pm.

Tables of up to 6. £6.50 per head to include supper. Bring your own beer/wine. Raffle.

Keep Fit with Jo Turner is back to Thursday mornings at 9.30 am. Our hall is nice and cool and we have plenty of parking. £6 per head. Just come along and join us.

Sunday 19th July at 3.00 p.m. Petanque Match at Pauntley Village Hall

The sun will be shining (again!) on Sunday afternoon, and a team from Upleadon is coming to play pétanque against a Pauntley team again at Pauntley Village Hall on Sunday 19th July, starting at 3.00 p.m. Teams will be organised on the day.

Wimbledon Men's Tennis Final on the big screen

This Sunday! The British hope, Arthur Fery, may not have made it to the men's final but it should be a great match between Jannick Sinner and Alexander Zverev.

If you would like to see the men's final on the big screen, then come along to Pauntley Village Hall on Sunday 12th July from 3.30 pm and enjoy the Wimbledon atmosphere with a bowl of strawberries and a glass of Pimms!

The bar will be open. All welcome - just come along. Plenty of parking.
