💔 We need your help, Torbay.
A few weeks ago, our volunteers hand-delivered information packs to over 200 local businesses along the Paignton Carnival procession route. Inside was information about our event, what we do for the community, and a plea for support through sponsorships, donations, or participation.
Sadly, we received zero responses.
Every year it becomes harder to keep this much-loved tradition alive. Costs continue to rise, support continues to fall, and without more help from our local community and businesses, the 2026 Carnival Procession could very well be the last Paignton Carnival ever sees.
This isn’t just a parade.
It’s dancers spending months rehearsing.
It’s children and families creating costumes together.
It’s charities, community groups, and local businesses proudly showcasing what they do.
It’s volunteers dedicating their entire year to planning a safe, successful event for the people of Torbay.
We are a non-profit organisation. We receive no direct funding. Every road closure, insurance policy, security measure, and medical provision is paid for through sponsors and donations. Just to safely run the procession costs around £10,000.
We are incredibly grateful to our returning sponsors and all of our amazing entries for 2026 — but we urgently need more support if this tradition is to survive.
If you own a business, know someone who does, or simply want to help protect a cherished community event, please get in touch.
Please share this post. Please spread the word. Please help us keep the Torbay Carnival Procession alive for future generations.
Let’s keep our Community Carnival going, together. ❤️
