Oxford's Rabbit Hole Festival has been in hibernation for the last few years, but we wanted to poke our head out of the burrow to give a congratulations to Taste Tibet who have been nominated for "Best Street Food" - a category in the BBC Food and Farming Award. As well as producing great authentic food, they have been providing food for NHS workers and the homeless. Watch Yeshi and Julie tell their story in their own words on BBC One's Saturday Kitchen 13th Nov. Yeshi and Julie were part of Rabbit Hole Festival running their food stall - and it went down a storm! Their hard work, commitment, and growing following has enabled them to open their shop and now their book is on the way - Certainly the best street food that Rabbit Hole Festival ever saw!

Want more exposure for your business?
Oxford Rabbit Hole Festival 2020 NEEDS SPONSORS!

Want to be involved with community event that has drawn over 900 people in 2018?

Want to be part of an extensive marketing campaign, raise your brand awareness, and have a stand on-site?

Want to be part of something good that supports local musicians, engages with the community, and contributes to Oxford’s culture?

We’re looking for sponsors to help us put on another amazing event this year. Now in our sixth year, we aim to build on our previous successes and bring Oxford yet another great day of live music and fun for all.

We've got the venue and date sorted, but we need some financial support to help us continue. Please help us do something good - and be part of an extensive marketing campaign, and have have a stall onsite if you so wish.

With your help, you will enable us to hold the festival in early September 2020.
Send a message, or email Ed for more information: [email protected]

Our thanks to Karisgonegonzo for producing our wonderful artwork.

This post is aimed at anyone who is a business owner, works at an independent business or a local corporate company. Even if you are a small business owner, or work in the Marketing Department as a Marketing Manager or Director, this opportunity could help your company increase brand awareness, drive people to you, and enable you to connect with the community and musicians. This business opportunity doesn't have to cost a lot and can be tailored to meet your business requirements.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!

Please like LIKE THIS POST to show that you want Oxford Rabbit Hole Festival to continue!

It might seem a long way away, but some of us are thinking about Rabbit Hole Festival 2020. There is a new landlord at The Victoria Arms who we hope will be happy to continue hosting the festival. But, it would really help to show him how many people want the festival to take place again. So, PLEASE LIKE OR COMMENT on this post to show your support and your wish to see the festival live on!

We need you all to get behind us for us to have a chance at continuing. Thank you for all your support - without you, we are nothing.

Happy Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

WORK WITH US - Join the Rabbit Hole Festival team.

Help to plan and organise the festival.
We are looking for organised efficient individuals to help us plan the festival and make it the best ever yet! There are a number of activities that we need help with ranging from writing marketing copy, organising promotion and PR, to liaising with bands, sponsors, food vendors, planning rotas, and general project planning and coordinating.

Experience and skill set:
It is important that you are well organised, personable, a good communicator (written & verbal), can work effectively on a computer and have a good grasp of Google Sheets.

It is important that you understand what Rabbit Hole Festival is about and what it is trying to achieve.

It is not strictly necessary that you have experience of organising live events, but it would be useful.

JOB ROLES:
You would join a small team, so while you might officially have a specific role, it is important that you are happy to get stuck and in and be a little flexible. We will try to hone the roles to suit what you want to do and what you can help with.

To give you a rough idea 3 roles we are recruiting for are:

BAND LIAISON OFFICER
Getting details from the acts and helping to manage them; getting them to the site on time, with all that they need.

MARKETING/PROMOTIONS & PR OFFICER
Helping to write marketing copy, liaising with press and radio, updating website if you have the technical know-how, helping with poster planning and distribution, marketing strategy, developing the brand, liaising with the sponsors.

EVENTS COORDINATOR/PERSONAL ASSISTANT
You will work closely with Ed the founder, to organise the event: coordinate, prioritise, plan and communicate. A large part of this will involve working from a computer but also attending occasional face to face meetings when necessary. There is a whole gambit of different things that go in organising a festival - too long to write here - but the work would be varied and interesting, and you would be supported and guided by Ed all the way. 2020 would be the 5th year of Rabbit Hole Festival, so we have knowledge and experience in event planning - but simply need assistance doing it.

PAYMENT
All of those who work at the festival have full time jobs, so plan and work at the festival in our spare time. We don't ask anyone (musicians included) to work for free - we pay everyone. However, there is a general understanding that Rabbit Hole Festival is not out to make money and is a community focused event aimed at celebrating live music and bringing people together. To this end, we cannot pay 'industry wages'. With 2 or 3 people working with Ed, the work would consist of a couple of hours a week, and flexibility is there - do what you can, but do what you say you will do.

We would work as a small close-nit team; on some weeks there would be nothing for you to do and for others there might be a bit be more. Since we all work in our spare time, Ed the founder understands that RHF work comes second to family commitments and home life. Planning what we are able to do every two weeks helps to ensure no one becomes over-loaded.

Communication is key. Ed needs team members who are able to support each other, believe in the cause, willing to learn, and have a positive attitude. Let’s do something great.
