What an incredible day of handball we had in Cumann Liathróid Láimhe Breacach yesterday to cap off another great year of the Mick Kerr Memorial Handball Tournament. Full reports and photographs to follow later in the week.
On behalf of the Kerr Family and the Breacach Handball Club, we extend a heartfelt thanks to all players and supporters who traveled from near and far, sponsors without whose support events like this would not be possible, and volunteers from across the Tyrone GAA Handball community who made this weekend such a huge success, in particular An Caisleán Glas, Sperrin Óg, Handball & Fr. Shields Camogie who hosted all Ladies Open games on Saturday and all who stepped up to referee games throughout the weekend.
As many may be aware, in past years the Mick Kerr Memorial Handball Tournament has made a donation to SVP - Society of St. Vincent de Paul Ireland, with all proceeds from the sale of tournament jerseys, raffles and donations throughout the weekend going to support SVP’s incredible work in the community.
A couple of months back, young Aaron McElhone was the winner of a £1,000 MFC Sports voucher at the Teamtalkmag Tyrone Awards. Aaron decided to donate the voucher to this year's Mick Kerr Memorial Handball Tournament for the tournament jerseys--An incredible act of generosity by the young man. With this, the 2026 Mick Kerr Memorial Handball Tournament will be making a £1,000 donation to St. Vincent de Paul in the coming months.
Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy 2026, and a successful season on-court to all of our players.
