Women in Music Women in Music is a new initiative based in Nottingham aimed to address the gender imbalance in the music industry.

Women in Music is a new initiative in Nottingham aimed to address the gender imbalance in the music industry. Our aim is to create an environment that encourages open discussion and creates a platform for positive change and affirmative action. Our inaugural event took place on 7th March at Rescue Rooms and was open to people of all genders and at all levels of their careers. The evening featured an interview and panels discussing what challenges women currently face, what work businesses can do to improve diversity and what is being done currently to implement change. Tickets proceeds were donated to Equation, a Nottinghamshire charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse and sexual violence. Instagram: bit.ly/2Gg2m7D

17:00 - Doors open and industry hour begins 🥂
17:45 - Open mic sign ups get underway🖊️
18:00 - Live music kicks off on the patio 🎤
20:00 - Evening Plans are back with new tunes, great vibes and a fresh debut single 🎵
20:30 - Julia Rose brings complex harmonies and layers of emotion to our stage
21:00 - Lo-fi folk and dreamy acoustic arrangements will be brought to you by Ok, Lady🫶
21:30 - Our hostess Leah Wilcox finishes us off with some incredible dreamy, whimsy tunes ✨
22:00 - Dazed take to the decks inside to carry us through the night 💃

The first confirmed D2D artist will be selected THIS Friday at our event!

Before incredible sets from Ok, Lady, Julia Rose, Evening Plans and Leah Wilcox, the stage will open up to female and non-binary, acoustic artists. Our D2D panel will work alongside our WIM team to select one artist to bag a slot on one of the fringe stages for next year's festival!

Sign ups will start at 5:45 and due to timing we cannot confirm every sign up will get the chance to play so please get down early doors to register your interest.
