Few would forget what happened at Silverstone 12 months ago when the race was cancelled following complications with draining after days of downpour.
The circuit has since been resurfaced ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix, and Formula 1 has already feasted on the new tarmac, despite some drivers believing riders will have a torrid time at the track.
Form guides count for much in Grand Prix motorcycle racing, but it’s different in 2019, and always different at Silverstone.
This season remains alive after Andrea Dovizioso broke through at Austria to defeat Marc Marquez with a stunning final-lap final-corner pass. Ducati is buoyant after the Austria victory, but the Silverstone layout will provide another challenge as Honda looks to press home its advantage.
