Church Sound & Media Summit

I’m pulling together a small, in-person meetup in Peterborough on Tuesday 12 May (daytime) to get some of the right people in a room and join the dots on church production training.

The idea: build a proper training hub + community of techs (sound / lighting / media / broadcast) under the umbrella of "The Church Sound & Media Summit" — something that actually helps churches day-to-day, not just at an event.

I’d love a mix of production leads, leaders, and key people from different churches, networks and organisations who’ve got a heart to see this happen.

To cover the basics (room hire, food, coffee), I’m suggesting a £30 contribution per church — unless I can find a sponsor for the day/ idea.

- who you’re representing (church / network / organisation)
- one thing you think churches most need help with right now

And if you can’t make the date, still feel free to message me with thoughts/ideas — I’d genuinely value them.

We started The Church Sound & Media Summit because church techs need a place to belong. Where we can share our experiences with understanding and love. Somewhere to learn from each other, swap what actually works, and remember why this matters. Not hype. Not sales patter. Just honest help and a proper community. In a world with increasing conflict, I wanted the summit to be somewhere we could learn , agree, and disagree but ultimately go forward with the same purpose.
What we are about:
• Community, not comparison. Whether your church seats 8 or 800, you are welcome. Your context matters.
• Real help for real Sundays. Sessions on audio basics, lighting that serves the room, media that supports worship, volunteers who feel confident, and broadcast that does not blow the budget.
• Transferable brand-agnostic teaching. Industry pros and church practitioners sharing tools you can use next weekend.
• Worship at the centre. Gear is great, but it serves people, presence, and the mission of the Church.
Why togetherness matters:
• Many techs serve in tiny teams or alone. That can be isolating. Shared stories and simple tips make a massive difference.
• Healthy tech teams lift the whole church. When techs feel seen and supported, everyone feels it.
