One thing we’ve always done at WU is being honest about money raised. With 100% of the money raised going to Nottingham Women's Centre in Tara’s memory & this year will be no different 💜

We do have an added complication this year. We have been so grateful that our pitches have been provided to us by The Forest Sports Zone, excitingly they are having some refurbishment this year. But unfortunately this does mean that we have to find a new location. We have sourced one…. However, there are additional costs associated with this.

Our estimated costs for the year are as followed
Pitches and facilities £500 - very grateful that this has been offered to us at a heavily discounted rate.
Medals and trophies (estimated) £200
Referees and volunteer supplies (estimated) £100

So we are seeking sponsorships.

Sponsorship packages include:

🏆 A trophy named after your business (e.g. Player of the Tournament, Goal of the Tournament, Save of the Tournament, or a special moment award)

📣 Promotion across our social media platforms

🎪 Opportunity to showcase your business on the day (branding, stall, etc.)

🤝 Flexibility — we’re happy to discuss ideas that work for you

This is more than just sponsorship — it’s a chance to make a real difference.

💜 You’ll be directly supporting women in our community
⚽ You’ll be part of an inspiring, inclusive event
🙌 And yes… you’ll feel really good about it too

If you’re interested or would like to chat further, please get in touch!

If you know of anyone that you think would be interested in supporting us please do tag them in the comments below.

We’ve been reminded today of how powerful football can be in raising awareness and driving change.

Earlier today, players from Italian club Cremonese — including Jamie Vardy — took to the pitch wearing the names of significant women in their lives instead of their own. The initiative, part of the “A Red to Violence” campaign, marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and sends a powerful message against domestic abuse. Other Serie A clubs stood with them in solidarity.

Today’s action shows that every platform, every voice, and every team can make a difference.
And that’s exactly what Women United is all about.

⚽️ We play for Tara.⚽️ We play for every woman affected by domestic violence. ⚽️ We play for awareness, change, and a future free from violence.

💜 We hope that one day we won’t need to play anymore! 💜

Sending love to all of Tara’s loved ones today 💜

Sending love to all of Tara’s loved ones today 💜

Tara, our beautiful angel,
9 years ago today you were so cruely taken from your family, friends and your gorgeous children.
You are always in our hearts and our thoughts, you will never be forgotten.
Rest forever in peace, there's no one up there to harm you.
Until the day we see your beautiful face again,
Love you x💜x

🎉 Huge Congratulations to the Lionesses – Euro 2025 Champions! 🏆🦁

From all of us at Women United, we are absolutely bursting with pride and joy as we celebrate the Lionesses’ incredible Euro 2025 victory! What a team. What a journey. What an inspiration. 🙌⚽

As women over 40 who grew up in a time when girls’ football was barely visible—when playing on a proper pitch or even being taken seriously as footballers was rare—we can’t quite express how moving it is to witness what this team has achieved. Back then, the idea of a national women’s team winning a European Championship would’ve felt like a dream too far. But you’ve not only made it real—you’ve redefined what’s possible. 💪

Now, when we walk past local pitches and see girls’ teams training, playing, and thriving, it brings a lump to our throats. What used to be the exception is now the norm. And that change? It’s because of role models like you. The next generation is growing up knowing they belong on that pitch—and that they can reach the absolute top.

So from all of us who remember the days when the game felt out of reach: thank you, Lionesses, for blazing the trail and inspiring countless girls (and grown women!) to lace up their boots with pride.

And hey—if any of you fancy a kickabout or a cuppa (see also beer at the after party 😜) at Women United 2026… the invite’s open! We’ll save you a spot. 😉 England football team

⚽️ Let’s go, Lionesses! 🦁 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏆

Huge congrats to England Women’s team for making another final! Women United 2026 next? 😜

If you’re looking for somewhere to watch the big game, our friends at Industry Bar have got in touch to let us know they are showing it live.
