On March 8th, we will be celebrating one year since our 1st ever football support session; to mark this, we will be having a team awards ceremony. On the night, we will be doing a draw to win a signed Nottingham Forest top! (Massive thank you to Harry Toffolo for hooking this up!)

We will be starting our training walks soon in preparation for this.

If you know me you’d know my knees are knackered through some horrific footballing injuries and any prolonged walking/sports leaves me in a world of pain. So why am I climbing a mountain? I have struggled massively with mental health after losing Freddie and the lads at Sands United FC Nottingham have literally helped to turn my life around. I’m back playing the sport I love and surrounded by a fantastic group of lads that understand the struggle and that I now call family. This mountain climb is a way for me to do something I’ve always wanted to do, with new family, whilst raising funds for us to continue to support men impacted by baby loss.

On behalf all of us at Sands United FC Nottingham, I want to say a massive thank you to the team at Barratt Homes for their very generous donation.

These funds will allow us to continue providing mental health support to men impacted by baby loss, through football and conversation.

Jess, from Barrat Homes, came down to our game on Sunday and met with the players.

The support from our local community has been amazing, and it is really encouraging to see awareness of baby loss being raised and really pushes us to keep going.

⚽️⚽️ GAME DAY ⚽️⚽️

Today is a big day for one of our Sands United brothers as we play for the ‘Kouper Cup’, a trophy in memory of his son Kouper.

Although winning the game and lifting the trophy is what we want to achieve on the pitch, the day is about raising as much money as possible for the 4Louis charity and for Sands United FC Nottingham so we can continue to extend our reach and support men who have been impacted by baby loss.

There is a raffle with some fantastic prizes to be won so why not head down to Carlton Le Willows Academy this afternoon and support a fantastic cause.

If anybody would like to help with gifts for the kids in hospital over Christmas, please let us know and we can come and collect them.

When we were in hospital with Poppy a few years back in the run up to Christmas not knowing if we'd be home for Christmas or not, the people who brought gifts round were amazing.

So happy and grateful to be able to be on the giving side of things this time around

Next up for us is a special game against our friends over at Tophouse Charity FC - a great group of lads that have been supporting us right from our very 1st match.

We will be using this match to support children that find themselves spending the Xmas period in hospital. Players will be purchasing gifts to be taken in to Nottingham QMC hospital and distributed to these children, in the hope that we can help put a smile on their faces.

We always say that we are more than just a football team, and we will be coming together again, along with the amazing guys at Tophouse Charity FC, to do our bit to help our local community.

What a great day!

We came away with a 6-4 win and so take home the Charity Challenge trophy. But today was about so much more than that, it was about coming together to raise awareness of 2 amazing charities, sharing the pitch in a display of solidarity.
