From 29th July – 8th August 2022, Woodcraft Folk and our friends from around the world will stand together on Common Ground – to live co-operatively in solidarity and friendship, having lots of fun!

This summer, after two years of waiting, Common Ground finally happened!

Common Ground was an international camp ✈⛺ for young people centred around cooperation, youth empowerment and activism 🙌.

As well as offering the chance to make friends, have fun and learn about new cultures, core to the camp was the running of 150 diverse workshops and activities over the ten day camp. 15 engaging programme centres were set up to enable young people to learn about topics such as cooperation, conflict and peace, environment and migration, anti-racism and anti-fascism and much more💚.

This amazing event happened and was a huge success thanks to all the hard work from volunteers, staff, our members, group and funders. THANK YOU!

If you're an adult and you were at Common Ground camp don't forget to respond to the evaluation ⛺- see email sent on 15 September for the link. And make sure you also run the activity in the same email for your group ASAP so we can gather feedback from your young people too 😄!

We want your Common Ground camp photos and memories 💬📸!

What fond memories have you taken away from camp that you will treasure? Was it making new friends, taking part in an engaging and thoughtful workshop or maybe something you enjoyed making? We want to know💚!

It is super easy to share your memories with us, all you have to do is fill in the form here https://bit.ly/3xvsfNz (parents/ group leaders please help support younger children to submit their memories too). There is even a space to attach photos at the end of the form.

Photos taken at camp that you are happy for Woodcraft Folk to use, can be shared via the email account [email protected]. Let us know if you would like us to give you credit when we share the photos.

**AMAZING OPPORTUNITY - VOLUNTEER CALL OUT**

Play an active part in Woodcraft Folk's 2025 centenary camp🥳 !

In 2025, we will be hosting an international camp as part of our 100th birthday celebrations and we need to recruit a strong organising volunteer team to make the camp a reality 🙌.

We have a list of roles that need more volunteers in their team:

🔸KP/Food
🔸Communications
🔸Volunteer Support
🔸Programme
🔸Site services (specifically
someone who could do
camp hygiene)

We also have the following roles available:
- Treasurer
- Youth Participation
- International
- Production
- Accessibility

We are looking for volunteers who are ideally over 16 years.

Because of a very kind legacy left by Roger Pickering, Woodcraft Folk were so pleased to be able to offer places at Common Ground camp for a reduced fee for young participants and volunteers from the UK who would benefit the most 😊⛺️.

We've been hearing amazing stories of people’s time at camp, and are very grateful that Roger’s legacy was able to support a total of 150 participants to take part!

The participants got to experience the international fun, community and skill-sharing of Common Ground, when they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to attend 💚.

Hi all, we hope you had a fantastic time at Common Ground camp 😃 It's been wonderful to hear all your fond memories from the camp - we are still buzzing from the time we had.

So many amazing photos/videos were taken at camp and we would love to get a copy of them to add to our image library!
