VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for this Monday

Can you spare a few hours to help spruce up our community venue?
We’re holding a volunteer painting afternoon on Monday 14 September, and we’d love some willing hands to join us.

Every coat of paint helps us care for this much-loved not-for-profit pub and theatre, ready for the exciting months ahead.

💙 We proudly offer a Blue Light discount at The Black Swan Public House.

Our discount is available to anyone with a valid Blue Light Card, including those serving in the Armed Forces and emergency services—and, of course, RNLI lifeboat crews and Coastguard volunteers.

These incredible volunteers give their own time to protect our coastline and save lives, including right here on the Norfolk and North Norfolk coast. They deserve our gratitude, respect and a very warm welcome.

To the narrow-minded thugs who think it is acceptable to threaten or harass these volunteers simply for doing what they do and saving lives: you are not welcome in our pub.

But to our emergency services, Armed Forces, RNLI and Coastguard volunteers—our doors are wide open. Thank you for everything you do. 💙

How lucky we are to live in such a beautiful, historic market town, with so many wonderful green spaces around us. 🌳

Just over the road from us is the Memorial Park — so calm, peaceful and full of beautiful trees. I’m taking a little break from a busy day, with one of our lovely Black Swan milkshakes, while Marty enjoys the chance to stretch his legs and make the most of the beautiful weather and surroundings.

Sometimes, stepping away for a few moments is exactly what you need. We’re very lucky indeed!

Joseph and Barbara had a brilliant morning at Paston Sixth Form College’s Welcome Event! 🎓

We enjoyed meeting students and staff while promoting:

☕ Our student discount in the pub on hot drinks, soft drinks and food — alcohol not included!

🎭 Free ticket giveaways for selected shows, including National Theatre Live screenings.

🙌 Volunteering opportunities at the Black Swan Theatre, from front of house to helping behind the scenes.

It was wonderful to strengthen our links with the college and find new ways to engage young people in our local community.

A huge thank you to Paston College for inviting us and making us feel so welcome!
