We’ve got some of the region’s favourite street food traders and bars joining us this weekend.

Enjoy festive treats from Redhead's Mac 'N' Cheese, Hatch76, Fire&Dough, GRK Greek, Doughvine Desserts and Smokey Joes.

Grab a hot chocolate from Coffee Curve, local beers and mulled wine from Enigma Tap or gins from GIN & TONIA.

There’s plenty of seating in Northumberland Square to enjoy your food and drink while listening to Christmas carols.

✨ Only a few days to go! We have lots of festive entertainment to enjoy alongside our stalls, street food and bars.

🎶 Local churches and the Salvation Army will open the market at 10am this Saturday with a short service, followed by performances from choirs and schoolchildren throughout the weekend.

🎡 There will be a selection of fairground rides around the square.

🎄 Families can meet some festive characters and enjoy free Christmas crafts and games at the Beacon Centre on Saturday (10am – 12pm) and Sunday (12pm – 2pm).

🎅🏻 North Shields Community Hub and Library will be hosting free children’s crafts, a Christmas quiz and an elf treasure hunt both days between 10am and 4pm. There will also be the opportunity to write letters to Santa, listen to Christmas stories in French as well as some stalls (Saturday only).

🚂 The Blyth and Tyne Model Railway event also takes place this weekend between 10am and 4pm at their venue above Asda on Saville Street. There will be over 20 model railway layouts and refreshments (admission charges apply).

🕰️ The market is open 10am until 5pm on Saturday and 10am until 4pm on Sunday.

The event is organised by North Tyneside Council and supported by Bernicia Homes and the Beacon Shopping Centre.

North Shields Christmas Market returns on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December 🎄

There’ll be a fantastic selection of stalls selling a wide variety of festive gifts, crafts and food and drink.

Northumberland Square will be home to some of the region’s favourite street food traders alongside bars selling mulled wine and festive hot chocolates.

There will also be fairground rides and performances from local choirs and schoolchildren throughout the weekend.

Market Cancelled

After a briefing with the Met Office this morning we have made the difficult decision to cancel this weekend’s market.

Although the weather is looking a little better on Sunday, the predicted gusts of up to 70mph on Saturday into Sunday morning and increasing impact of heavy rain, mean we can’t operate the event safely.

Obviously we’re all disappointed and we were really looking forward to seeing you all again.

We would like to thank all our brilliant stallholders for their support and we wish you all a very Happy Christmas.

You'll find some of the region's favourite street food at the market this weekend including; Great North Pizza Co, Chilli Padi, Spud Gun Loaded Fries., Hogs 'n' Chix, GRK Greek Streetfood, Smokey Joes, Coffee Curve and roasted chestnuts.

Some will be offering a festive twist on their usual menus.

There'll also be bars selling mulled wine and festive tipples - Enigma Tap and GIN & TONIA.

Grab a seat in Northumberland Square and enjoy your food and drink while listening to Christmas carols sung by local school choirs.
