Just an update post as we see that there are still folk looking at the Greyabbey classic bike and car show page. We like to keep the page open so we can share what we get up too with UYP our Mk1 Es**rt.
As far as the show is concerned we really have no answer to the future, for those that live or travel through Greyabbey, I’m sure folks have noticed that works are currently ongoing behind the village hall on a walkway that the council are installing, and that takes space away now as well as the high insurance costs that have been an issue recently.
Anyway this year we had the Mk1 at the Causeway Ford show in early June, a great day in a class setting. Midsummer I was in the co drivers seat with David in his lovely 205 GTI at an RSA rally event at Kirkistown, a very hot day and driven at a hot pace. I hope I was a help, but I’m not so sure 😁.
A big event Kelly and I took part in was the RPM organised Déjà vu Rally, this year in Waterford, these rally’s recreate the old stages of the long Circuit of Ireland from back in the day. These events are well subscribed by rally legends and some outstanding period works rally cars, heaven for an old car nut like me… these are classic runs, but they run at what we will call a “spirited pace” great events with great people… this year coming 2026, the rally will run around South down and the Mournes, with Rally HQ being LaMon.. recreating stages from the COI and Ulster rally’s, and we hope to take part if we can get an entry on these growing popular events…
Late November David and I took a couple of days following the Roger Albert Clark rally around North Yorkshire, a massive 5 day historic forest rally event, we were glad to see & follow locals, Brian Jardine in his class Mk2 Es**rt & Colin McDowell in his superb Mini, both gents doing really well on this tough event.
To top things off, our Mk1 is being featured in a 2026 calendar of a very popular UK YouTuber who posts videos messing about at his own Old Ford’s. Something unexpected but really chuffed about, a few photos attached from this year, and as always thank you everyone for your support. 👍
