πŸ₯³ It's Volunteers' Week - a week-long event that starts on the first Monday in June every year. It’s a chance to recognise, celebrate and thank the UK’s incredible volunteers for all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector, and society as a whole.

Wigtown Festival Company wouldn't exist without the support we receive from our incredible army of volunteers and we're looking forward to celebrating them with you this week πŸ’ͺ🫢.

πŸ“–πŸŒŸ A powerhouse of creativity, BAFTA winner and novelist, Neil Forsyth's work is read and watched by umpteen millions across the globe. Neil will discuss his insanely busy career β€” up to and including his most recent television smash, Legends. He'll tell us about turning Bob Servant into a social media sensation, the difference between writing for laughs and writing for thrills, and maybe, if we ask him nicely, he'll reveal some of his own guilty secrets.

πŸ“–πŸŒŸ Best known as the ever patient Mick Shipman from Gavin & Stacey, Larry Lamb has built a career far bigger than Barry Island. An acclaimed actor, presenter, novelist and storyteller, he's recently embarked on a whole new art form, as a poet! This is your chance to enjoy a preview of Larry's poetry, which draws heavily from his life.
