The Abbey community of pupils, staff and parents have raised over £16,700 this year for local, national and international charities. The money has been raised in many creative ways; homemade cake sales (which proved very popular with the Abbey boys!), quizzes, mini-enterprise projects, fun days and much more. The money has helped so many different groups such as our local hospice, inner city homelessness and supporting our friends in the Zambian Immersion Project to name a few. Next year the Abbey Community aims to raise even more funds and keep the spirit & ethos of Edmund Rice alive in our mission to care for those in need.

Home Economics rolls out successfully to KS4. The aromas drifting down the corridors are fantastic and have alook at the Yr11 Controlled Assessments. Well done boys and Mrs O'Donovan!

The 1st year football team took part in the Ulster Blitz on Friday past. It was a really enjoyable day with good weather and good football on show. The lads played really well and after a very tight group we made it through to the semis to play our neighbours St Colmans. After defeating them we moved on to played St Pats Maghera in the final. The boys gave it everything but just came up short in the final. The boys have made it to two Ulster finals this year and hopefully in the future will take the next step. Hard luck and congratulations to them.

What a great day ERFD (Edmund Rice Fun Day): A-Bay Auctions, Spiritual time in the oratory, Abbey's Got Talent and an afternoon full of fun team and skill games. The ethos of Edmund lives on!

Abbey Senior Jazz Band will be performing in Warrenpoint's "Blues in the Bay" festival on Sunday 29th May in the park around 1pm. Lots of other family attractions and food fair. The sun always shines as well!
